Station 19 is entering its final season on March 14, 2024, with a previously minor character receiving a major upgrade through rejoining the team. Station 19 season 7 is sadly the last season of the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff, with the firefighter show coming to a close after what will be over 100 episodes. There is a lot to be addressed from previous storylines in Station 19 season 7, but the addition of another firefighter to the team could offer big changes for Theo’s character.
Station 19 season 6 had a cliffhanger ending, with Jack’s fate up in the air after he collapsed at the firefighter gala gone wrong. The Station 19 season 7 trailer was careful not to answer any questions about whether Jack survived, but viewers are hopeful he’ll return for the final 10 episodes. On the other hand, the Station 19 season 7 trailer featured a familiar character who has a history with Theo.
Kate Powell Is Joining Station 19 In Season 7
Kate could be replacing Jack
Kiele Sanchez first appeared in Station 19 season 6 for a three-episode arc as Kate Powell, a firefighter subbing in for Ben while he recovered from an injury. Though Ben has since recovered, Kate was shown to still be around at SFD Station 19 in the Station 19 season 7 trailer. It has yet to be explained why Kate appears to be a more permanent member of the team, but it’s likely related to what happened to Jack.
Even if Jack survives in Station 19 season 7, it doesn’t mean he’ll be ready to return to firefighting. The most likely cause for his collapse was an untreated concussion, which could lead to some further complications down the road. Due to this and his mental health struggles, it’s probably best for Jack to take some time off from firefighting in Station 19 season 7.
Kate Could Be Theo’s New Love Interest
Kate & Theo have history
In the Station 19 season 6 finale, Kate and Theo hooked up after dancing around each other for some time. They’d previously worked together and had a playful relationship, with Kate not hiding her feelings for Theo despite his relationship with Vic. In the Station 19 season 7 trailer, Kate told Theo they could finally be together, but he didn’t seem entirely on the same page as her.
Theo went through a lot in Station 19 season 6 both at work and in his romantic life. Theo’s time as interim captain in Station 19 was a disaster, and he was passed up for the permanent captain position in favor of Andy. At the same time, his relationship with Vic began to fall apart, ultimately ending in them breaking up. Theo may not be ready for a new relationship in Station 19 season 7, but Kate has made it clear that she’s interested.
