Spoiler alert: This article contains major spoilers for the Station 19 series finale, “One Last Time,” which aired on May 30, 2024. If you haven’t watched yet, you can stream it on Hulu.

The Station 19 finale picked up right where the previous cliffhanger left us, with Maya Bishop trapped in a raging wildfire. As she fought for survival, her thoughts turned to her wife, Carina DeLuca, unaware that Carina was pregnant. This moment set the stage for a heartfelt exploration of their future together, culminating in a vision where both women picture raising their children together.Station 19' stars reflect on the legacy of one of TV's most beloved lesbian romances

What makes Maya’s journey particularly exciting is the revelation that she eventually becomes captain of Station 19, introducing her team to Seattle’s new fire chief. It’s a triumphant arc for a character who has faced so many challenges.

Where Did the Other Firefighters End Up?
The finale provided glimpses into the futures of our beloved firefighters, revealing their personal and professional growth:

  • Andy Herrera: Rekindling her romance with Jack Gibson, Andy (Jaina Lee Ortiz) earns a promotion to Seattle Fire Chief—a fitting honor that highlights her resilience.
  • Ben Warren: Ben (Jason George) decides to return to Grey Sloan Memorial to complete his surgical residency. His flash forward shows a proud moment at his children’s graduations, including Pru Miller-Warren, who will join Maya’s team.
  • Vic Hughes: In a touching moment, Vic (Barrett Doss) imagines celebrating the success of Crisis One, with a surprise visit from the late Dean Miller, who tells her, “You did it, Hughie. I’m proud of you.” It brought tears to my eyes.
  • Travis Montgomery: Realizing his heart lies with Vic, Travis (Jay Hayden) joins her in expanding Crisis One in Washington, D.C., leading to a romantic trip to Paris.Station 19 Maya Bishop & Carina Deluca Marina - Etsy
  • Theo Ruiz: Although he and Vic don’t end up together, Theo (Carlos Miranda) imagines a future where he returns to Station 19, gets married, and starts a family.
  • Robert Sullivan and Natasha Ross: Their future looks bright, with Natasha (Merle Dandridge) envisioning a wedding to Robert (Boris Kodjoe) while he plans a facility to support veterans in becoming firefighters.
  • Sean Beckett: In a lighthearted moment, Sean (Josh Randall) imagines a comedic scene involving Natasha’s sister during a game of pickleball.

Who Died in the Finale?
Tragically, the wildfire claimed the life of Kate Powell (Kiele Sanchez), who was caught in a fire tornado. Her loss impacted the team deeply, especially Travis and Vic, but thankfully, this was the only major casualty in a finale that could have been much darker.

As Station 19 concludes its seven-season run, fans have expressed sadness over its cancellation. While there were efforts to save the show, the resolution offered in “One Last Time” brings a sense of closure for fans. Here’s hoping they found the finale satisfying!
