Station 19’s [Spoiler] Quits Ahead of Series Finale
Looked like the April 4 episode of Station 19 was going to be the last for Carlos Miranda. At the end of the fraught episode, his character, Lt. Theo Ruiz, approached newly minted captain Andy Herrera to say that he could help her with the budget cuts that she was being forced to make… by resigning.
Theo’s departure from the firehouse comes in the wake of his Season 6 split from fellow first-responder Vic Hughes and his season-ending kiss with “Chaos Kate” Powell. It’s been awkward for Ruiz, working with both his ex and the old pal who is always looking for a good time. And though new showrunners Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige have made him a lot less of the tool that he was in Season 6, there appears to be no chance of a reconciliation between him and Vic.
Plus, over the course of the episode, Kate shared with Theo that she was now working as a freelance firefighter for an outside company for a buttload of money — way more than Station 19’s crew gets paid. So it was essentially the same gig but with better pay and no ex-girlfriend around to give Ruiz the cold shoulder. That had to have sounded pretty appealing to him!
Receiving a medal for bravery at the end of Season 6, Warren has seen more than his fair share of danger and adversity in his time on the show, which is now confirmed to end after Season 7.A new TV spot for Station 19 Season 7, Episode 5 potentially teases a life-or-death situation for Ben Warren, leaving many wondering if he will die.
The trailer sets the story at Seattle’s biggest landmark, the Space Needle, as the Station 19 firefighters have to climb to the top of the structure to put out a fire.
As the drama unfolds in the air and on the ground, the trailer ends with Ben Warren saying to somebody, “Tell Miranda she was worth waiting for,” referencing his wife, Miranda Bailey. This line has many fans believing this will be the end of the line for Warren, leaving his future in the series uncertain.
