Stella Returns to Firehouse 51 in New ‘Chicago Fire’ Images

Chicago Fire Season 13, Episode 10, “Chaos Theory,” was supposed to air on Wednesday, January 15. However, due to former President Joe Biden‘s farewell address, NBC preempted the entire One Chicago lineup, repeating past episodes after the address. The episode now airs on January 23, and it features the return of Miranda Rae Mayo‘s Stella Kidd after a short absence. According to the episode’s official logline below, Stella returns to a significant storyline as she helps a victim post-incident. Meanwhile, Severide (Taylor Kinney) is concerned about a member of his Squad. NBC released some new images that preview Stella’s return and other arcs from the episode.

“The team responds to a crisis at a community center. Severide is forced to investigate one of his own Squad members. Kidd helps a teacher going through a post-incident spin-out. “

Stella Returns and Cruz Struggles with His Secret in ‘Chicago Fire’ Season 13, Episode 10.

Stella was absent in Episode 9, “A Favor,” because she had gone to check on another chapter of the Girls on Fire program in another city. As much fun as that was, she has a duty in Chicago and leads Truck during a call at a community center. The images show her in different places, including on rescues. One image shows her walking the halls of a school with someone who must be the teacher teased in the logline. All this happens before Stella gets a blast from the past when a family member shows up in past episodes.

However, the bigger story seems to be happening in Cruz’s (Joe Minoso) life as he tries to keep the secrets of his involvement in the robbery that went wrong in the previous episode. The last of his problems has not yet arrived because the ever-keen Severide notices something is off and does what he does best: investigate. Speaking to TV Insider, Minoso teased Cruz’s biggest problem when Severide gets involved, saying:

“And that is the worst idea that he could have had because he works with a fire cop. The guy is basically an investigator who cannot stop investigating at his own peril. . . . It’s going to be up to Cruz to keep that at bay and to make sure that Severide knows nothing, but let’s not forget he’s a fire cop.”

Whether Cruz succeeds in keeping Severide at bay remains to be seen, but if past cases are any indicator, he doesn’t stand a chance. Tune in to NBC on Wednesday, January 22, to watch the episode and see how everything plays out.
