Tanner Tolbert is speaking out about the Bachelor in Paradise change on the upcoming season that will mix The Bachelor and The Bachelorette singles with much older singles from The Golden Bachelor.
With just one season of each Golden spinoff, there are a handful of seniors who will be hitting the beach this year to find love alongside their younger counterparts, and it’s bound to cause more drama than we’re used to.
For Tolbert, though, it just doesn’t make sense.
“It’s weird to me,” the BIP alum told Kaitlyn Bristowe during an appearance on her Off the Vine podcast. “We liked watching the Golden stuff, but I feel like they’re trying to jam the Golden stuff down our throats at every turn.”
Tolbert went on, “That’s fine on its entity, but I don’t know if we need to mix it. Like, are they going to be living in the same house? Are there going to be two separate camps?””Are they using the same Boom Boom Room?” Bristowe asked.
Tolbert admitted that he doesn’t know if he’d “feel as comfortable hanging out with grandpa next door.””I dunno, it’s just a different vibe,” he continued.
Bristowe agreed and brought up the reasons we like The Golden Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise are so different. The senior spinoff is so mature and different, whereas BIP can get raunchy. Will mixing in older singles make the younger cast members act differently? Or will the seniors show off their less mature side? We’ll have to wait and see when Season 10 premieres on Monday, July 7, 2025, on ABC.
Tolbert appeared on Season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise, where he met his wife, Jade Roper. The pair got engaged on the season finale and then married in 2016 during a special episode where viewers were able to tune in and watch. They share three children, Emerson, 6, Brooks, 5, and Reed, 4.
