he grand opening of a local New Jersey business was the site of an unexpected Dick Wolf crossover fans never thought they’d see.
On April 19, Ice T and his wife Coco Austin were in attendance for the grand opening of NJ-based The Medicine Woman. In an Instagram post shared the next day, the star revealed that he wasn’t the only Dick Wolf-affiliated actor in attendance. He was joined by Chicago Fire star Taylor Kinney, who is a partner in the female-operated business.
For one brief, shining moment, the worlds of Law & Order and One Chicago collided in an epic real-life crossover event. In Ice T’s photo, the two men each flashed a thumbs-up to commemorate the festivities.
“Yesterday’s Grand Opening was CRAZY.. Shout out to one of the @themedwomannj’s actual Partners @taylorkinney111 CHICAGO FIRE 🔥,” Ice T wrote in a caption.
Both look like certified badasses! So, while it’s not a full-fledged on-screen crossover, fans of both franchises are happy to see some of their favorites cross paths in real life. Ice T and Kinney definitely have more in common than we thought.
According to Ice T’s Instagram, it appears the 67-year-old Law & Order: Special Victims Unit icon is also a partner in the business. He certainly was hyped about the business’s new location in his home state! (And the afterparty, of course.)
Ice T addresses SVU retirement rumors
Sometimes, the rumor mill spirals out of control, and on March 28, Ice T took to Instagram to address claims that he plans on retiring from the series soon. He responded to the rumors with an emphatic: No!
Sharing photos of himself hanging out with SVU co-star Mariska Hargitay on the street (and one of him on stage), Ice T wrote in his caption, “RETIRE??? I’m lucky enough to Act and do Music…. As an Artist, those are jobs you simply NEVER want to stop doing.. Ever 💎.”
Between starring as Odafin “Fin” Tutuola for so many years on SVU and traveling the world as part of Body Count, his rock band, the star is where he wants to be. And he couldn’t be happier.
