Taylor Sheridan Fans Can Celebrate as Another ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff Is Announced Featuring Fan-Favorite Character

Although Yellowstone concluded with Season 5, fans of Taylor Sheridan’s epic drama don’t need to worry that they will miss the franchise as it seems yet another spinoff is now in the works. As well as the return of the prequel series 1923 earlier this year, and several other previously announced spinoffs in various stages of development, CBS is now reportedly developing a procedural starring Luke Grimes back in the role of Kayce Dutton.

Yellowstone has been a juggernaut franchise for Paramount over the last several years, sprouting new offshoots everywhere it possibly can. The franchise has directly produced 1883 and 1923, which delved into the history of the Dutton family and Yellowstone, an upcoming spinoff focused on Beth and Rip, while a sequel called The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J.Adams, and Matthew Fox.

There is currently no other information known about this new series, but it is expected that Kayce’s wife Monica and son Tate will also be appearing in the series, played by Kelsey Asbille and Brecken Merrill respectively. Expect to hear more about this newest addition to the Yellowstone family in the near future.

Taylor Sheridan Is Dominating TV

The Yellowstone franchise seems like it should be enough to keep anyone busy enough that they can’t look at anything else. However, that is certainly not the case with Taylor Sheridan. His sprawling Yellowstone saga, which could have several other spinoffs to come, is just one of the many strings in the writer/director/actor’s bow.

Other Sheridan hits include Landman, Lioness, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown…it really is a long list. What is more is that every one of them has been a monster hit for Paramount, with several recent weeks seeing the majority of Paramount+’s Top 10 being mostly populated by a show that Sheridan has had some kind of hand in.

Recently, it was announced that Landman, which is based on the podcast Boomtown and stars Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, and Demi Moore, has been renewed for a second season. Tulsa King already has Season 3 in production, and Lioness has recently been renewed for Season 3 as well. Fans of the Jeremy Renner-starring Mayor of Kingstown also have something to look forward to as Season 4 of the show is in the works.

In short, there is no possible way to avoid stumbling across something that has Sheridan’s fingers in it. With another new Yellowstone series on the cards, it looks like its reach is only going to continue to grow in the coming years.
