Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming Yellowstone sequel The Madison hasn’t even premiered yet, but Paramount is already locking in more. At a Los Angeles press event this week, the studio’s new leadership confirmed that the Michelle Pfeiffer-led series will return for a second season, marking another vote of confidence in Sheridan’s ever-growing small-screen empire.
It’s a record that speaks for itself. Every Sheridan series to date has delivered strong numbers, and aside from limited runs like 1883, nearly all have gone multiple seasons. Now, both The Madison and Lioness are the latest to join that list.
The new seasons will shoot at Sheridan’s sprawling new 450,000-square-foot production campus in Fort Worth, Texas, located within the 27,000-acre AllianceTexas development. The facility, the largest operating studio in the state, is a partnership between SGS Studios (Sheridan’s venture with 101 Studios CEO David Glasser), Paramount Television, and Hillwood, a Perot Company.
Filming at the campus began in March 2025 with Landman Season 2, starring Billy Bob Thornton. Glasser revealed that The Madison Season 2 is slated to begin shooting in September, followed by Lioness Season 3 in October. He also noted that four different Sheridan series will be in production there this year alone.
What Is ‘The Madison’ About?
Billed as a heartfelt study of grief and human connection, The Madison follows a New York City family adjusting to life in the Madison River valley of central Montana. Sheridan executive produces alongside Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, Pfeiffer, and Keith Cox.
Pfeiffer leads the ensemble as Stacy Clyburn, the emotional anchor and matriarch who uproots her family from New York City to Montana’s Madison River valley. She’s joined by Patrick J. Adams as Russell McIntosh, Stacy’s ambitious yet conflicted husband, and Elle Chapman as Paige McIntosh, his self-absorbed wife accustomed to a life of luxury. Beau Garrett plays Abigail Reese, a sardonic, resilient newly divorced mother of two, with Amiah Miller as her eldest daughter Bridgette Reese. Matthew Fox stars as Paul, a self-reliant bachelor embracing the rugged Montana lifestyle, while Ben Schnetzer portrays Van, a grounded local rancher and neighbor to the McIntosh family. The cast also includes Kevin Zegers as Cade, Rebecca Spence as Liliana Weeks, Alaina Pollack as Macy, and Danielle Vasinova as Kestrel, the Indigenous wife of a local rancher.
