Long before meeting Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift expressed her desire for a partner who could navigate fame as easily as she does. In a resurfaced 2011 interview with 60 Minutes, Swift, then 21, shared her thoughts on finding someone who wouldn’t be overly concerned with the public eye.
“It’s heartbreaking when things click, but your comfort level with fame is different from [the person you’re dating],” Swift revealed. “I don’t care… It doesn’t matter to me who’s looking, but it does to some people.” She added, “You couldn’t really have a good relationship with someone who cares that much about keeping people out.”
Fast forward more than a decade, and Swift, now 34, has seemingly found that partner in Kelce. The two have been spotted together at major events like the U.S. Open and the Super Bowl, as well as on casual dates in New York City. Kelce, also 34, seems at ease with the attention their relationship brings, even making an appearance at Swift’s London Eras Tour show.
In a September interview with CBS Mornings, Kelce reflected on his newfound spotlight, saying, “It comes with the territory… I have fun with it.” He also shared that his family, including his mother and brother, has embraced the rise in fame.
Kelce believes fans are rooting for him because they see he’s a “genuinely good person” who loves what he does and wants to spread joy. His attitude seems to match Swift’s long-held wish for a partner who can handle fame just as effortlessly.
