The time is here, The Big Bang Theory fans. A new spinoff is officially in the works — and it looks like people have a lot to say about it.
It’s been six years since The Big Bang Theory ended on CBS in 2019, and viewers have been begging for a spinoff series to come to life with the original cast. Well, it looks like co-creators Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn and Bill Prady have heard the requests, as a major update in regards to the spinoff that’s been teased since April 2023 has officially been revealed.
In an announcement posted on The Big Bang Theory‘s Instagram on July 9, folks learned Kevin Sussman will reprise his role as comic book store owner Stuart Bloom in a new spinoff called Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. Not only that, but the show will stream on HBO Max.
“BIG news from the world of #TheBigBangTheory! 👀,” the caption read. “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is coming to HBO Max!”
Given how longtime fans have been waiting for a spinoff series to come about from TBBT, this news had many screaming in excitement.
“This is such a rogue spin off, I’m obsessed,” one person penned in the comments. “NO WAY OMG I LOVE THIS IDEA,” another exclaimed. “Stuart was finally remembered!! 😅,” a different follower added.
