The Big Bang Theory’s Georgie Spinoff Explains One Missing Young Sheldon Story
The Big Bang Theory’s upcoming spinoff starring Georgie and Mandy will show one particular storyline that Young Sheldon weirdly dropped.
The upcoming The Big Bang Theory spinoff about Georgie and Mandy can bring back one dropped Young Sheldon storyline. Sheldon may be its headliner, but since breaking away from its original premise as the character’s origins, it has made the rest of the Coopers more compelling. Mary and George’s other kids have gotten their respective plots, with Georgie arguably getting one of its best-executed plots. Not much has been revealed about his life in The Big Bang Theory and, between that and the popularity of his tandem with Mandy, CBS elected to continue Young Sheldon by awarding them a spinoff.
After Sheldon leaves Texas for California, his older brother will be the center of what essentially will be a Young Sheldon sequel. Specific plot details about the series are still tightly under wraps, but according to its premise, it will follow Georgie and Mandy as they navigate being new parents to Baby Cece while also figuring out their relationship. Aside from that, it can also fill narrative gaps that Young Sheldon missed. Earlier seasons of the prequel didn’t devote enough time to the eldest Cooper sibling, but he had one The Big Bang Theory-tied storyline that his offshoot could explore.
Georgie’s New Show Can Explain How He Built Dr. Tire
Each of George and Mary’s kids have their respective specializations. He may not be as sharp or sociable as Sheldon and Missy, but Georgie’s brilliance lies in his entrepreneurial skills. The first couple of Young Sheldon seasons highlighted this, but later years have somehow completely forgotten it. Granted that he is still involved with Meemaw’s business, but his particular skill in dealing with tire matters has never been brought up again. Moving forward, The Big Bang Theory spinoff following him can devote time to tackling this personal story for him.
Revisiting Georgie’s dropped tire storyline can also help the new show establish a proper connection with The Big Bang Theory. During Georgie’s season 11 debut in the nerd-centric sitcom, one of the biggest reveals about him is that he owns the biggest tire chain in Texas — Dr. Tire. The Big Bang Theory didn’t have time to expound on this matter, considering that Georgie’s appearance was mainly due to Sheldon and Amy’s upcoming wedding. However, Georgie and Mandy’s series can now properly reveal how Dr. Tire was born.
How Young Sheldon Sets Up George’s Dr. Tire Story
Thanks to their own show, Young Sheldon season 7 isn’t forced to spend as much time with Georgie and Mandy. Given this, it’s possible that the couple’s wedding will be saved for their series. Tying the knot will officially make Georgie a member of the McCallister family, and as previously revealed, Mandy’s parents own a tire shop. Aside from helping with Meemaw’s business, this could rekindle the eldest Cooper kid’s fascination with tires, paving the way for him to launch his business, Dr. Tire, and grow it the next few years.
