Is it hot in here, or is just the Station 19 cast? The new Grey’s Anatomy spin-off looks just as good as the medical drama — except with sexy firefighters instead of doctors. We can’t wait to watch Ben Warren (played by Jason George) find his way in the new show.
“The show is different from Grey’s because our hero characters aren’t just saving lives, they’re also putting their own lives at risk in the process,” showrunner Stacy McKee explained. “The very nature of their jobs will put these characters out into the streets, on location, immersed in their patients’ lives in a way that’s a lot more visceral and a little bit more messy…. it’s just a different energy. There’s no safety net there. Gosh, it’s so similar, too. As much as we’re out and enjoying all of the action, there’s just so much heart and humor, and sexy time — all of that, plus this great shot of adrenaline.” Sounds great to us — keep scrolling to meet the Station 19 cast!
Jason George (Ben Warren)
Grey’s fans will be familiar with at least one face from the new show. Ben aka Dr. Bailey’s hunky husband will star in the spin-off as the surgeon turned firefighter.
“He’s going to be so new to this whole first responder firefighter world in the same way that any of us, our diehard Grey’s Anatomy fans, will be,” showrunner Stacy McKee told Entertianment Weekly. “So if it’s new for him, it’s new for us, too, which will be a really helpful, fantastic way of storytelling. He’ll be fundamental connective tissue.”
Jaina Lee Ortiz (Andy Herrera)
Meet the drama’s female lead! The NYC native joins the Station 19 from TV shows Rosewood and Shooter.
“She’s this pretty fantastic, bada– firefighter, and she’s going to be a real emotional anchor for the show,” she continued. “There’s going to be firefighters from all different ranks, from captain all the way down to the newest probie.”
Grey Damon (Jack Gibson)
With a name like that — we’re surprised he didn’t start on Grey’s too! And from the looks of him, Jack will definitely draw the eye of some of the ladies on the show.
The Hollywood Reporter described the lieutenant as “charming, charismatic, and full of energy and passion but doesn’t always think things through, whether at work or in love.”
Danielle Savre (Maya Bishop)
If you see blonde hair and immediately think Izzie Stevens… think again. Maya is way more Cristina Yang when it comes to her personality.
The former Olympic athlete is described as “driven, ambitious, hard-working and competitive — even with her closes friends. She’s a firefighter who is straightforward, unapologetic, and darkly funny with an edge.”
Jay Hayden (Travis Montgomery)
Another firefighter who is easy on the eyes… Seattle is full of pretty people it seems. Jay was on the short-lived Shonadland show, The Catch as well.
Travis is “an openly gay firefighter who is well-liked, funny, fun and always plays by the rules.”
Barrett Doss (Victoria Hughes)
Travis’ BFF is the fun-loving Victoria. The former Iron Fist star is the instigator of the bunch.
Victoria’s “brazen demeanor can be a crutch she hides behind as she covers up her own insecurities. Travis is her closest friend at the station — and potentially in life too.”
Okieriete Onaodowan (Dean Miller)
Dean might look harmless, but don’t be fooled. The “charmer” loves to use his job to win over the ladies. Don’t hate the player…
He’s described as “honest but walks the line with being a jerk.” Karev, much?
Alberto Frezza (Ryan Tanner)
So, Ryan is actually not a firefighter — he’s a cop. He tries to stay on the right side of the law… at least as of recently.
Ryan is “a clever and sensitive reformed troublemaker who now works as a police officer.”
Miguel Sandoval (Pruitt Herrera)
Last, but not least we have Pruitt. The “father figure” of the group will surely become a fan-favorite.
The Caption described as “tough and respected — and loved by his subordinates. He’s a progressive thinker who advocates for his crew, even if it means standing up to his superiors. He’s been offered promotions in the past but had declined because he’d rather be on the front line than behind a desk.” Station 19‘s very own Chief Webber!
