‘The Golden Bachelor’ Countdown: Finale Air Date, Hometown Visits, and the Two Women Likely Headed for the Final Rose md18

ABC’s “The Golden Bachelor” season two is moving fast, with only three women left for hometown dates this week, on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

The show will likely wrap up in just eight episodes over a span of seven weeks. Both of the Florida women who were on the show are now gone, with no one left to represent The Sunshine State.

The Florida contestant who stayed on the show the longest, Nicolle, was sent home last week after bragging on the possible new-found fame she expected to find after the show, telling some of the other women in week three that she wasn’t “dating Mel” she was “dating America.”

Here’s a recap of the Florida contestants’ time on the show, when the finale is expected to air, how to watch the show and what we know about who might win in the end.

What day is ‘The Golden Bachelor’ finale?

The season finale of “Golden Bachelor” season two will likely air on Wednesday, Nov. 5, based on past seasons’ air schedules. This season is moving a little faster than the franchise’s typical 10-episode run, and will likely wrap up in just eight episodes over seven weeks.

This week’s episode on Wednesday, Oct. 22, is the “hometowns” episode with Mel’s three finalists and will technically be the sixth episode in the season, although it will only be the fifth week of the show airing. ABC combined the first two weeks of filming into a mega premiere episode for episodes one and two.

Here’s a breakdown of the airing schedule for “The Golden Bachelor” season two, as of Oct. 20:

Week one (episodes one and two): Aired Sept. 24
Week two (episode three): Aired Oct. 1
Week three (episode four): Aired Oct. 8
Week four (episode five): Aired Oct. 15
Week five (episode six, Hometowns): Airs Oct. 22
Week six (episode seven, likely The Women Tell All): Likely airs Oct. 29
Week seven (episode eight, likely After the Final Rose/Finale): Likely airs Nov. 5

Which contestants are going to ‘Golden Bachelor’ hometowns?

After last week’s fourth episode, only three women remain and will be introducing Mel to their families on this week’s episode:

Cindy, 60, a retired biomedical engineer from Austin, Texas
Debbie, 65, a fitness professional from Denver, Colorado
Peg, 62, a retired firefighter and bomb tech from Las Vegas, Nevada

Was Nicolle sent home on ‘The Golden Bachelor’? See how far Florida contestants got

The second season of “Golden Bachelor” featured two contestants from South Florida: Alexandra, a 67-year-old luxury yacht sales representative from Miami and Nicolle, a 64-year-old yoga instructor from Miami Beach. Alexandra was unfortunately sent home during the second rose ceremony on the premiere episode.

Nicolle captured Mel’s attention throughout the season, much to the other women’s chagrin. The Miami Beach resident rubbed other contestants the wrong way after she made out with Mel in front of them, bragged on potential fame post-show and even took sole credit for a dessert the entire house made for Mel.

One of the other contestants went to Mel during episode three, giving him the classic line of some contestants being there for “the wrong reasons,” in reference to Nicolle.

Nicolle was ultimately sent home during the rose ceremony on episode four, just missing the mark to take Mel home to meet her friends and family in Miami. This surprised her, as she thought she was a sure-fire option for hometown dates.

“When it doesn’t work out with the one you pick, because it probably won’t, you call me,” she confidently told Mel before getting into the black SUV that would escort her to the airport.

“I’m a little surprised at this outcome,” she said in the car. “I really thought it was going to be my name. It should have been, but that’s OK, because it’s just the universe’s way of saying there’s something better for me just around the corner …”

Will there be a ‘Women Tell All’ special for ‘Golden Bachelor’ season 2?

As of Oct. 20, it is unknown who will attend the special.

Who wins ‘Golden Bachelor’ season 2?
Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Some Bachelor Nation fans prefer to know who the winner is before the season even begins, trusting TV blogger Reality Steve to deliver the news.

However, things are a little bit different this season.

“Hopefully, at some point, I’ll get spoilers. Right now, I have none,” Reality Steve, whose real name is Steve Carbone, said during the Sept. 23 episode of his podcast. “I couldn’t tell you where they went for the Final Rose ceremony.”

Since then, Reality Steve made an update on Oct. 15, saying his guess at who the final two will be. When he thought Carol, Debbie and Cindy were the final three, he predicted that Debbie and Cindy would be the top two. Assuming Carol eliminating herself didn’t tamper with that prediction, it’s likely that Debbie and Cindy will be the two women vying for a proposal in the finale.

What channel is the ‘Golden Bachelor’ on? How do I stream ‘The Golden Bachelor’?

Are they casting for ‘Golden Bachelorette’ season 2?

As of Oct. 20, there have not been any announcements regarding casting for season 2 of the “Golden Bachelor.” ABC has a website for its Bachelor Nation franchise, featuring a page for casting its “Golden” shows.

Typically, ABC starts airing casting calls towards the end of a season, with a lead announced during the final episode.

However, there have been reports that the spinoff is in danger of getting the boot. According to The Sun, viewership for the second season of “Golden Bachelor” has declined significantly from the first season. Insiders told the outlet that production was second-guessing its decision to put Owens as the lead.

When does ‘The Bachelorette’ return with Taylor Frankie Paul?

Will #MomTok survive this? ABC revealed the newest lead of the Bachelor franchise on Sept. 10: Taylor Frankie Paul of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” fame.

Paul is a 31-year-old mom of three, TikTok influencer and reality TV star from Utah. She announced her upcoming role on an episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.

The new “Bachelorette” will debut in 2026. ABC has not announced a specific date as of Oct. 20.
