The cast of The Good Doctor recently sat down to share some of their most unforgettable—and hilariously embarrassing—emergency room visits.
Freddie Highmore, who plays Dr. Shaun Murphy, admitted to an embarrassing incident as a child. “I once shoved a marble up my nose because I was curious. It got stuck, and my parents had to rush me to the ER,” he said with a laugh. “Let’s just say the doctors weren’t impressed by my curiosity.” Paige Spara (Lea Dilallo) revealed her own awkward ER visit. “I was trying to show off my cooking skills, and I ended up slicing my finger open while chopping onions. The worst part? I fainted at the sight of my own blood,” she shared, joking that she’s now banned from using sharp knives.
Hill Harper, who plays Dr. Marcus Andrews, recounted a gym-related injury that landed him in the ER. “I was trying to lift weights that were way too heavy, and I ended up pulling a muscle so badly that I couldn’t move. The ER doctor told me, ‘Next time, maybe leave the heroics for TV.’” Fiona Gubelmann (Dr. Morgan Reznick) shared a funny story from her younger years. “I got my arm stuck in a Halloween costume that wouldn’t come off. My mom had to take me to the ER because I was panicking and couldn’t breathe properly,” she said, laughing at the memory.
Antonia Thomas, who portrayed Dr. Claire Browne, revealed her most embarrassing moment happened abroad. “I slipped on ice during a ski trip and hurt my ankle. When I arrived at the ER, the doctor said, ‘You traveled all this way to ski, and this is how it ends?’” Richard Schiff (Dr. Aaron Glassman) had perhaps the most unexpected story. “I thought I had broken my toe, but it turned out to be nothing more than a bad bruise. The doctor told me I’d wasted a perfectly good ER visit!”
These candid and relatable stories remind fans that even TV doctors have their fair share of embarrassing medical moments. It’s a comforting reminder that everyone, even the stars, has an awkward ER visit or two under their belt!
