The Good Doctor season 7 is almost here, and fans are finally getting a look at what’s to come.
As the hit ABC series begins airing its final season on February 20 at 10 p.m. ET, we got an exciting sneak peek of the upcoming installment with an official trailer.
“The Official Trailer for #TheGoodDoctor’s farewell season is here! 🩺,” read the caption on Instagram on January 31. “Watch the premiere Tuesday, Feb 20 on ABC and stream on Hulu.”
In it, we see Freddie Highmore’s character, Dr. Shaun Murphy, embrace fatherhood with his new son, Steve, and wife Lea Dilallo (Paige Spara). We also see him get back to work at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital with his old co-workers.
There’s drama with his mentor Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff), Dr. Alex Park (Will Yun Lee) and Dr. Morgan Reznick (Fiona Gubelmann) are experiencing family medical issues, all while Shaun is trying to figure out work-life balance, it’s clear to see the last 10 episodes are going to be epic.
But when fans saw all of what was in store for the crew, instead of being excited, they were upset because they couldn’t get over that this will be the last time we see our favorite doctors.
“ABC AND HULU ARE YOU HEARING US?! WE WANT OUR SHOW TO CONTINUE!” one person shouted on Instagram. “OMG PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THE BEST MEDICAL SHOW 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭,” another begged. “Of course ABC has to go and cancel it and make it the last season 🙄,” a different viewer added. “No business cancelling this show,” someone else wrote.
As fans know, The Good Doctor announced its cancellation in mid-January, with Deadline being the first to break the news. At the time, Freddie shared the impact of playing Shaun has made in his life, telling the outlet the role has been “an immense privilege and one of the most remarkable and rewarding experiences.”
“I will always be grateful to [executive producers] David [Shore], Liz [Friedman], and Erin [Gunn] as well as the hugely talented – and lovely – cast, writers, and crew who made this show possible,” he said at the time. “Caring deeply is what got us here. Thank you to Sony and ABC, and to everyone who has watched along at home. With love from Vancouver… tequila, stat!”
