ABC’ hit medical drama The Good Doctor returned to screens on Monday with its dreaded season six finale.
Although this episode marked an end, fans were thrilled to see the action-packed series come to a satisfying close.
Throughout the season, Dr Shaun Murphy (played by Freddie Highmore) and his wife Lea Diallo (Paige Spara) have been preparing for the birth of their first child.
The couple were forced to have difficult conversations when it came to baby-proofing their home, how they would raise their child and Dr Aaron Glassman’s (Richard Schiff) unexpected stay in their home.
However, despite Lea’s labour viewers were on the edge of their seats as Shaun was rushed to an emergency.
The attending surgeon was called into the operating room to help Dr Asher Wolke (Noah Galvin) but thankfully, Shaun made it to Lea just in time to welcome their baby.
By the end of the episode, Peanut was re-named, Steve Aaron Murphy, a touching nod to Shaun’s brother and father-figure which left fans emotional.
Taking to Twitter, a teary @ClassyLittle1 wrote: “This episode has all the feels my goodness. Just when I think I’m done crying I’m not.”
A thrilled @_natalieviolaaa added: “What a finale! Shaun and Lea had their baby boy.”
@vmnibbling remarked: “Damn you @GoodDoctorABC why do you have to make me emotional every week.”
@_teresa98 admitted: “The name has me in tears.”
As @arn13 shared: “Shaun and Lea’s little Steve Aaron Murphy is precious. Next season we need a quick resolution with Grandpa Glassy. Shaun needs his Dad.”
