‘The Good Doctor’ Fans, You Won’t Like What ABC Announced About the Upcoming Episode

ABC's "The Good Doctor" - Season Two
This story contains light spoilers from The Good Doctor season 7.

The Good Doctor is in its final stretch of episodes, and boy are things at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital already heating up for season 7.

Life is looking a little different these days for Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) as he steps into first-time parenthood with wife Lea Dilallo (Paige Spara). As the couple deal with the ups and downs of raising their son Steve, Shaun is also facing challenges at his place of work. But while he’s always had the support of his mentor, Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff), the two found themselves at odds earlier this season amid structural workplace changes occurring. But thankfully they got the chance to work things out, because Shaun’s going to need him as he experiences career highs — and lows — in the last 10 episodes of the ABC series.

As the hit drama has had a legion of fans tuning in ever since its September 2017 debut, some viewers were surprised not to see a new episode air last week. This was due to ABC News’ coverage of the Super Tuesday portion of the 2024 presidential election primaries. And while they expected the next installment to air tonight, viewers will be disappointed to learn that once again, there won’t be a new episode of The Good Doctor on tonight.

While the show hasn’t stated the reason behind the surprise switch-up, folks don’t need to worry about missing the latest episode. Instead, ABC shared in late February that those who missed out on the first episode of the season can catch up when the network re-airs the season 7 premiere March 12 at 10 p.m. ET.

When is The Good Doctor returning with new episodes?
Mark your calendars, because The Good Doctor will return to ABC with a new episode on March 19, 2024 at 10 p.m. ET.

As for what’s to come on The Good Doctor, ABC’s official press release reveals that fans can expect an eventful episode 4. Titled “Critical Support,” this installment will follow Shaun as he “continues to be tested by Charlene ‘Charlie’ Lukaitis (Kayla Cromer) when their newest case prompts her incessant stream of questions – all in pursuit of an answer.” What’s more, Dr. Morgan Reznick (Fiona Gubelmann) tries to figure out who to choose as her daughter Eden’s guardian in the event that anything happens to her.

Let’s just say we need to scrub up and prepare for what comes next!
