Episode seven, Faith, made its debut on ABC on Tuesday, April 30, with Dr Aaron Glassman (played by Richard Schiff) appointed to patient Hannah Ayleston (Ruby Kelley).
She had a painkiller addiction and Glassman naturally felt protective of her, given that his own daughter died of a drug overdose years prior.
This won’t be the last time that fans will see Hannah either as she is going to be featured in the remaining episodes, so undoubtedly will play a big part in Glassman’s last storyline.
While it isn’t yet clear what direction the show is going to go in just yet, the stars behind Glassman and Hannah are already very well acquainted.
The West Wing actor is the father of actress Ruby Kelley who portrays patient Hannah Ayleston.
She is one of two of Schiff’s children, with an older brother called Gus who has stayed out of the spotlight.
Schiff shares them both with his wife Sheila Kelley who he married in 1996 and previously played Glassman’s love wife Debbie Wexler who later left him.
Prior to the episode Faith airing, the 68-year-old took to Instagram to share the exciting news of his latest co-star.
Sharing a number of stills from Faith of himself and Kelley together in The Good Doctor, Schiff wrote: “Tonight and for the next three episodes a very special guest star on The Good Doctor.
“Introducing Ruby Kelley. She’s phenomenal. The story is even more so”, ending the post with the hashtag “proud dad”.
Kelley, aged 24, also shared some behind-the-scenes snaps as she excitedly announced she would be on the small screen for the next few weeks.
Of course, there isn’t long to go with The Good Doctor coming to a close for the last time in a matter of weeks.
Why did Harry and Meghan make a Netflix series about their life?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have found themselves at the centre of public attention since they took a step back from senior royal duties in 2020.
In a trailer for the Netflix series about them, Prince Harry told viewers that “no one sees what’s happening behind closed doors” in a reference to how their lives may differ from what the public think about the couple. Meghan adds: “When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?”.
Reports suggested the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could receive up to $100 million for making the show, although this has been disputed and the true figure is unknown.
And with Schiff’s daughter present for these last instalments, it does hint that she is going to play an integral role in how his journey comes to an end.
