The Good Doctor: Will we ever see Lea again?
Dr. Shaun Murphy said an emotional goodbye to Lea in The Good Doctor. Is this goodbye permanent? Will we ever see Paige Spara return as Lea again?
I feel a warning announcement needs to be made before The Good Doctor airs its next episode. Something along the lines of: “WARNING: Prepare to have feelings, lots of feelings.” As once again The Good Doctor delivered an emotional and powerful episode last night with “Islands part 2.”
We watched the conclusion of the twins, Jenny and Katy, storyline. Melendez is facing a difficult decision with Jessica and Kalu may soon regret the actions he has taken. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and drama throughout, and to top it all off, Lea has now gone and Shaun has decided to stay and not go with her.
The question being asked now is: Will we ever see Lea again?
As things stand, it looks like that’s it. We are unlikely to see Lea return to The Good Doctor. Paige Spara, the actress to play Lea, has only been credited for a total of six episodes via IMDB and “Island part 2” was episode number six.
Episode 3, “Oliver”
Episode 4, “Pipes”
Episode 8, “Apple”
Episode 9, “Intangibles”
Episode 11, “Island, part 1”
Episode 12, “Island, part 2”
So unless something changes at The Good Doctor camp or the network, that emotional goodbye between Shaun and Lea appears to be the actual final goodbye.
Could she ever be brought back?
Yes, there is always the possibility of her coming back.
ABC and The Good Doctor could bring her back to the show if they want to. With how successful the show has become and with the likelihood it will be given a renewal for a season 2, she may be brought back for future episodes.
All it will depend on, other than showrunners wanting her back, is Paige Spara herself being up for the job and that there is a demand for her return by fans. And that demand is already clear. Many of you have taken to Lea, and Spara herself, on Social Media to show your support. Spara appears to have certainly enjoyed her time on the show as well so fingers crossed she will be back by popular demand.
