However, the showrunners weren’t willing to establish that relationship without a full romance storyline, and Blue Bloods never got the chance to deliver that.

Now that Danny is moving onto the spinoff Boston Blue, it might feel like all hopes for the Danny and Baez ship have been dashed. Fortunately, TV is a land of infinite possibilities. The writers who kept a show alive for 14 years can certainly come up with reasons for two characters to reunite.
