The Rookie’s Tru Valentino Speaks Out on His Surprise Exit Ahead of Season 7
Tru Valentino is breaking his silence about exiting ABC‘s The Rookie, following TVLine’s exclusive report that he won’t be back as a series regular for the upcoming seventh season.
“I will always cherish my time on The Rookie, but couldn’t be more excited for what the future has in store,” Valentino wrote in an Instagram story on Friday. “I adore the friends and relationships made while being there. It was such an amazing opportunity, and I feel so lucky to have had the last three seasons. Thank you to the best fans in the world. I know I don’t talk much, but I appreciate you all so much. You never know who may pop back up in the Mid-Wilshire precinct. Until then, 7 Adam 19, this is Officer Thorsen, over and out!”
Valentino, who began recurring on The Rookie in Season 4 before being promoted to series regular in Season 5, played Aaron Thorsen, a TikTok star who joined the Mid-Wilshire Division as a rookie cop after being acquitted of a high-profile murder charge.
Outside of The Rookie, most of Valentino’s credits came from voicing animated characters on shows like Spidey and His Amazing Friends, The Croods: Family Tree, Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, Madagascar: A Little Wild, Fast & Furious Spy Racers, and the new Beavis and Butt-Head.
