The Summer I Turned Pretty star Christopher Briney has been cast as the lead in a new comedy from Amazon MGM Studios.
Titled Clashing Through the Snow, the new project is being described as a Planes Trains and Automobiles for a new generation, according to Deadline.
Details are still being kept under wraps. However, gossip outlet Deux Moi recently received a tip that Briney is going to star in a Christmas romantic comedy that will release in 2026. “Female lead hasn’t been cast yet so no announcement but it sounds SOOOO cute!” wrote the tipster.
Deadline reports production is set to begin in February with Carlson Young, the filmmaker behind Upgraded, set to direct. McG, Mary Viola and Lena Roklin are attached to produce. With this timeline, it’s possible TSITP fans will get to see Briney back on their screens during the holiday season.
Clashing Through The Snow will be written by Daniel Mackey and Rebecca Ewing. Mackey and Ewing previously wrote the 2021 romcom Love Hard, starring Nina Dobrev.

This marks one of Briney’s first roles since starring in Prime Video’s runaway hit The Summer I Turned Pretty, based on the novels by Jenny Han. Briney starred opposite Lola Tung as Conrad Fisher, the main love interest. The cast will be returning for new movie installment down the line, titled The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie.
The young star is building a unique filmography. His first role was in the 2022 drama Dalíland, opposite Sir Ben Kingsley. Briney starred as a young gallery assistant who attempts to help Salvador Dali (Kingsley) prepare for a big show in New York.
