‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Star Joins ‘Hacks’ Season 5 in Intriguing First-Look Image

According to news reports, Briney has officially been added to Hacks Season 5 amid filming, and fans can catch a glimpse of him in character in the installment’s first-look image, courtesy of HBO Max. Details about the actor’s role have yet to be revealed, but he will join returnees Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, both of whom will reprise their roles as Deborah and Ava, respectively. Furthermore, Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, and Rose Abdoo will play series regulars in Season 5.

The award-winning comedy went into production for its fifth season in September after being renewed in May, prior to Season 4’s finale. The new season is expected to be Hacks’ final, though HBO has yet to make an official announcement. Even so, Einbinder previously said of the last run, “…knowing it’s the last season is really bittersweet. But I think it’s right, you know? It’s nice to do something as many times as it should be done. Not overstay your welcome. Rip it and do it and laugh and cry.”

As filming progresses on Hacks Season 5, more details are sure to be unveiled, including its logline and guest stars. In the meantime, fans will recall that, in addition to the main players of the show, Season 4 was packed with lots of big names, all of whom will hopefully return for the new season.
