Blue Bloods Cast Then vs Now
After 14 seasons, New York City’s favorite Irish-Catholic family, the Reagans, sat down for their last Sunday dinner in Blue Bloods’ series finale on December 13, 2024. With more than a decade on TV and nearly 300 episodes, the cast of the CBS police procedural drama — including Donnie Wahlberg (Detective Danny Reagan), Bridget Moynahan (ADA Erin Reagan), Will Estes (Sergeant Jamie Reagan), Len Cariou (Commissioner Henry Reagan) and Tom Selleck (Police Commissioner Frank Reagan) — have changed a lot over the years, but true Blue Bloods fans will know that they’re still the same Reagans who shared the series’ first-ever family dinner together in the pilot.
Blue Bloods, which premiered in 2010, follows the Reagans, a family with a long history of policing in New York City, with each member holding a different position in law enforcement. After 13 years on TV, news broke in November 2023 that Blue Bloods was ending with a two-part final season that concluded in November 2024. Selleck hinted in an interview with TV Insider in October 2024 that he disagreed with CBS’ decision to cancel Blue Bloods. “During those last eight shows, I haven’t wanted to talk about an ending for Blue Bloods but about it still being wildly successful,” he said. “If you were to say to the television network, ‘Here’s a show you can program in the worst time slot you got, and it is going to guarantee you winning Friday night for the next 15 years,’ it would be almost impossible to believe. My frustration is the show was always taken for granted because it performed from the get-go.”
In honor of Blue Bloods’ series finale, take a look at what the cast looks like from the show’s early seasons to now.

Tom Selleck (New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan)
Selleck, who’s best known for his roles on TV shows like Friends and Magnum P.I., played New York City Police Commissioner Francis Xavier “Frank” Reagan. Selleck was nominated for a People’s Choice Award in 2017 for the role. Frank, the son of former Police Commissioner Henry Reagan, and his late wife, Mary, shared five children: sons Danny, Jack, Jamie, and Joe, and daughter Erin. Selleck starred on Blue Bloods for all 14 seasons.

Donnie Wahlberg (Detective Danny Reagan)
Wahlberg, a former member of the boy band New Kids on the Block, played New York Police Department Detective Daniel Fitzgerald “Danny” Reagan for Blue Bloods’ whole 14-season run. Danny — the eldest son and chld of Frank and Mary Reagan — was married to his wife, Linda Reagan (Amy Carlson), from 1996 until her off-screen death in 2017. The couple shared two sons: Jack and Sean.

Bridget Moynahan (ADA Erin Reagan)
Moynahan, best known for her roles in projects like Sex and the City and Coyote Ugly, starred as Assistant District Attorney Erin Reagan for all 14 seasons of Blue Bloods. Erin is the second child and only daughter of Frank and Mary Reagan. She’s divorced from criminal defense attorney Jack Boyle (Peter Herrmann), whom she shares a daughter with.

Will Estes (Sergeant Jamie Reagan)
Estes played Frank and Mary’s youngest child, Jameson “Jamie” Reagan, who started as a Patrol Officer at the 12th Precinct before he was promoted to Sergeant and was transferred to the 29th Precinct later in the series. Jamie and his partner, Eddie Janko, got engaged in the Season 8 finale and married in the Season 9 finale. Estes played Jamie for Blue Bloods’ whole 14-year run.

Len Cariou (Commissioner Henry Reagan)
Cariou portrayed Henry “Pop” Reagan, a retired New York City Police Commissioner and Frank’s father. The true patriarch of the Reagans, Henry is described in the series as “a retired NYPD police commissioner who saw military action in World War II and Korea.” Cariou starred on the series for all 14 seasons.

Marisa Ramirez (Detective Maria Baez)
Ramirez made her debut on Blue Bloods as Detective Maria Baez, Danny’s partner and his friend of more than 20 years, in Season 3. She started as a recurring cast member before she was promoted to a series regular in Season 4. Before she became Danny’s partner, Maria spent three years with the New York Police Department’s Joint Bank Robbery Task Force prior to the department’s disbandment.

Vanessa Ray (Officer Eddie Janko-Reagan)
Ray plays Officer Eddie Janko-Reagan. She first joined the series as a recurring cast member in Season 4 before she was promoted to a series regular in Season 5. Eddie and Jamie were first linked romantically in Season 4, however, it wasn’t until Season 8 that they fully accepted their feelings for each other and got engaged. They announced their engagement at a Reagan family dinner and got married in Season 9.
