There are more family secrets to uncover in Tracker Season 2
The first season of Tracker introduced us to the mystery of the Shaw family. The show only scratched the surface on that mystery, and Tracker Season 2 is set to bring us more to it.
In the first season, we learned that the Shaw siblings were separated after their dad’s death. Colter remained with his mother, Dory went off with an aunt and uncle, while Russell joined the military. They were raised in vastly different ways, and it’s clear they were all told something different.
It’s time for the reason they were separated to be explored. The only way for that to happen is by bringing in a character we haven’t seen since the start of the series.
Mary Shaw will return in Tracker Season 2
TVLine shares that Wendy Crewson will return as the Shaw siblings’ mother, Mary. She was last seen in the second episode, and she told Colter not to trust Russell. While Russell tried to get in touch with his brother, Mary worked on preventing that. It didn’t happen, though. Eventually, Russell and Colter reunited, and that was partly thanks to Dory’s words.
We still need to build out what exactly happened [after] their father’s death. Remember, Dory went to go live with an aunt and uncle… [Russell] joined the military…. They each have pieces of the story, from different sides, that they’ve never shared with Colter.
What is going on with Mary? What happened in after the death of the Shaw patriarch? It’s time to explore this, and we do it by learning of some of Mary’s motivations.
Why does Dory have some of their father’s journals in Tracker?
Colter learned that Dory has some of their father’s journals. It’s clear that his siblings are keeping something from him, and Colter wants to understand why. Both Dory and Russell are keeping their pieces of the story from him.
Mary keeps saying that she wanted to protect Colter. Why would she want to keep Colter away from his siblings, though? We want to believe that she did what she thought was the right thing, and maybe she was.
Someone killed Colter’s father, and Russell says that it wasn’t him. He does say that someone was there that night. Is it possible that Mary knew the best way to protect her children was to keep them separated? Did Dory just start digging because she had the freedom thanks to her aunt and uncle? Did Russell have a bit of freedom and knowledge due to where he was that night?
There’s a lot to unpack with the Shaw family mystery, and Tracker Season 2 promises to do just that.
