It’s Tuesday night, and you know what that means. It’s all about NCIS, with the prequel series, NCIS: Origins, sitting in the middle slot. Well, there is some bad news tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 25.
Sadly, there isn’t a new episode of NCIS: Origins season 2 tonight. Of course, people always want to know why their show isn’t on, and right now, there’s possibly the fear that you didn’t realize the fall finale aired. Well, there are still more episodes to come in 2025.

Why isn’t NCIS: Origins on tonight?Empty heading
The reason is simple and probably not surprising when you consider the time of year. It’s Thanksgiving in two days, and CBS tends to take a break from the regular schedule around this time of year. So, NCIS: Origins, along with the rest of the franchise night, is taking a break.
In some good news, there are reruns throughout the night. For the prequel series, you’ll need to tune into the earlier time of 8/7c on CBS, as the rerun is the two-episode crossover event that starts in the 1990s and ends during an episode of NCIS.
If that episode isn’t the one you want to watch, then you can turn to Paramount+. All episodes of the series are available to stream, and we really recommend the origin story of Ducky that aired during NCIS: Origins season 2.

When will NCIS: Origins season 2 return?Empty heading
Don’t worry; the previous episode wasn’t the fall finale. CBS still has at least two more episodes to come, and then it’s likely to go on its winter break.
We’ll get NCIS: Origins season 2 episode 7 on Tuesday, Dec. 2, airing at the usual time of 9/8c. The new hour will give us a little more information about Wheeler and Lala, as they both get some unexpected news. Wheeler’s backstory hasn’t been delved into at all, so it’s time to learn more about how he ended up rising the ranks, but this episode seems more focused on his personal life.
We’ll also get to see more of Randy and his wife together, which is going to be sweet after that ending to Randy’s birthday episode. The two are going on a double date with Gibbs and Diane.
Then there’s the case, which involves the death of a Marine, who happens to be a woman. However, Lala points out that you don’t see “lady Marine,” because women are just Marines. It’s a fair point, but this is the 1990s, and Lala is fighting a battle that we’re still fighting today!
There is set to be another episode on Tuesday, Dec. 9, and then we’re likely to see the fall finale. This break is going to be a longer one, with NCIS: Origins not set to return until Tuesday, Feb. 23.
NCIS: Origins will return on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 9/8c on CBS.
