January 8: Chicago Fire recurring guest star Michelle Forbes celebrates a birthday.
Michelle Forbes played the scheming Gail McLeod, who tried to shut down Firehouse 51. She previously portrayed medical examiner Julianna Cox on NBC‘s Homicide: Life on the Street, starring alongside Jon Seda in the show’s sixth season.
These days, she’s playing the equally scheming Valerie Edwards in the EPIX spy drama Berlin Station.
January 8, 2014: The Chicago PD season 1 episode “Stepping Stone” airs.
Four years ago this week, the first episode of Chicago PD hit the airwaves, officially turning One Chicago into a franchise. Learn more about the fourth anniversary of the Intelligence Unit here.January 9, 2013: The Chicago Fire season 1 episode “Under The Knife” airs.
Five years ago we saw Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) have to finally admit that he was injured and face the consequences. This episode also involved Gabriela Dawson (Monica Raymund) finding a young girl at a rescue call, which might sound a little like deja vu considering that she and Severide just found a teenage girl at a fire call in last week’s episode.
January 10: Chicago Fire recurring guest star Sarah Shahi celebrates a birthday.
Speaking of Severide, this week is the birthday of the actress who played his first major love interest, Sarah Shahi. Though her character Renee Royce ultimately left Chicago without him, Shahi is also recognizable to One Chicago fans for her other roles on CBS’s Person of Interest and USA’s Fairly Legal.
January 11, 2017: The Chicago PD season 4 episode “You Wish” airs. This week last year saw the Intelligence Unit on the hunt for someone who was tormenting sex offenders, while Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) went behind Erin Lindsay’s (Sophia Bush) back and ran a DNA test on the man she believed to be her father. That didn’t work out well.
January 12: Chicago Med recurring guest star Cynthia Addai-Robinson celebrates a birthday.
Another Med alum has a birthday on the same day as Oliver Platt. Cynthia Addai-Robinson was a recurring guest star during Chicago Med season 1 as Dr. Vicki Glass. She came to the show with a One Chicago connection, too; Cynthia appeared in the Lifetime movie Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret, which starred Jesse Lee Soffer.
January 12, 2017: The Chicago Med season 2 episode “Heart Matters” airs.
Completing the trifecta of medical drama milestones, Jan. 12 was also the same day that Med aired the sequel to its first-season episode “Guilty.” Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) was shocked to see the police officer who had arrested her return to the ED as a patient, and we were all heartbroken when the officer died.
January 13, 2015: The Chicago Fire season 3 episode “Ambush Predator” airs.Three years ago, Severide and Dawson probed the fire that had killed Severide’s best friend and Dawson’s partner Leslie Shay (Lauren German). And Shaft himself, Richard Roundtree, guested as Chief Boden’s (Eamonn Walker) dad. Fun fact: Roundtree would later have a significant role in The Player, which starred Chicago Justice alum Philip Winchester.
January 13, 2016: The Chicago PD season 3 episode “Knocked The Family Right Out” airs.
In this episode, Intelligence investigated a brutal home invasion with some help from Firehouse 51’s Jimmy Borrelli (Steven R. McQueen). Needless to say, it was one of the grimmer episodes of Chicago PD.
January 14: Chicago Justice star Carl Weathers celebrates a birthday.
We’re also saying happy birthday to the legendary Carl Weathers, who portrayed State’s Attorney Mark Jefferies on Chicago Justice. He’s one of two stars who has yet to reprise his role elsewhere in One Chicago; instead, he
