This Young Sheldon BTS Clip Makes Sheldon & Missy’s Bond Even More Beautiful

A new Young Sheldon season 6 behind the scenes video makes Missy and Sheldon’s latest heartwarming conversation so much more special. As TV’s No. 1 comedy approaches its final stretch for the year, certain plot lines are starting to culminate. Among all that, though, the Young Sheldon writers still found a way to partner up the Cooper twins for a lovely bonding moment.

As revealed in director Kabir Akhtar’s new social media post, Sheldon and Missy’s touching talk in Young Sheldon season 6, episode 17 was also Iain Armitage and Raegan Revord’s last scene together in 2022. Check it out below:

Akhtar’s post features a slew of behind the scenes images from episode 17. The director also included a video of Armitage and Revord filming the installment’s poignant Sheldon and Missy moment, and an off-screen voice confirms it marks the “2022 wrap” for the two actors.

Why Young Sheldon Needs To Focus More On The Cooper Twins’

Missy and Sheldon looking perplexed in Young Sheldon season 6 premiere

The latest episode of Young Sheldon season 6 picks up after Missy’s daring runaway outing, wherein she attempted to illegally drive to Florida with Paige. Luckily, they were arrested and picked up by their respective parents. For Missy, however, that means being grounded indefinitely, and while Sheldon is a stickler for rules, it was touching that he helped his sister find out what was happening on 90210 since she was prohibited from watching TV.

In such a busy episode with the focus primarily on Georgie’s birthday, it’s great that Young Sheldon found a way to put the Cooper twins at the forefront of the storytelling again. It has been a while since the pair teamed up, and despite their tumultuous dynamic in The Big Bang TheoryYoung Sheldon establishes that they were quite close during their childhood. As a family comedy, the show needs to further lean on this, especially since Missy somehow grounds Sheldon.

Young Sheldon season 7 could be its final year as the comedy inches closer to its natural end. That being said, with a new The Big Bang Theory spin-off in the works, perhaps revamped streaming service Max can find a way to continue the show beyond Sheldon’s move to Pasadena and George’s upcoming death. Missy and Georgie are perfect candidates to spearhead what would essentially be The Coopers, should the powers that be opt to continue exploring Young Sheldon‘s world.
