Beyond the bright lights that come with recent hit films like Disney’s Toy Story 4 and ongoing sitcom Last Man Standing (plus nostalgia for Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor from the classic TV show Home Improvement), American actor and comedian Tim Allen (real name Timothy Alan Dick) has an enviable home life with his wife, fellow actor Jane Hajduk.
Before their Oct. 7, 2006 wedding in Grand Lake, Colorado, Allen and Hajduk dated for five years. They appear on-screen together in three early-century films: Joe Somebody (2001), Zoom (2006), and The Shaggy Dog (2006).
Other credits for Hajduk, a native of Oil City, Pennsylvania, include the Chicago Hope episode “Wag the Doc” (1998), the NCIS episode “Eye Spy” (2004), and the Monk episode “Mr. Monk and the Big Game” (2006), in which she’s billed as an “Attractive Mom.” She also voiced Sharon Carter in the 2005 video game Ultimate Spider-Man.
More recent IMDB filmography additions for Hajduk came in the Catholic Church of Elvis (2009) and Ovation (2015).
Her best-known role might be that of Researcher Taylor in superhero comedy Zoom, a film that only made $12.5 million despite a $75 million budget and the star power of Rip Torn, Chevy Chase and Courteney Cox.
Allen and Hajduk welcomed their first and only daughter to date, Elizabeth Allen Dick, in 2009. Hajduk is the stepmom of Katherine, Allen’s daughter with his first wife, Laura Deibel.
Allen’s marriage to Hajduk succeeds in part because he’s sober and focused on keeping family first.
“I’m not the same guy I was the first time [I was married], when I was hiding and doing what people who drink too much do. I was not connecting,” he told Closer in 2017. “But I’ve been sober for almost 20 years. I’m much more present.”
When it comes to Allen’s on-screen image as a devoted husband and dad, art imitates life.
“Tim gets to fully be the loving father and husband he is, which is so genuine in him,” Allen’s on-screen wife on Home Improvement, Patricia Richardson, told Closer. “It’s what makes him so lovable.”
