Tim Allen Reuniting With ABC For Third Comedy After Last Man Standing’s Cancellation

Tim Allen is reuniting with ABC for a third comedy series, tentatively titled Shifting Gears, following Last Man Standing’s cancellation. The stand-up comedian’s acting career was launched with his role as Tim “The Toolman” Taylor on the ABC sitcom Home Improvement, which ran for eight seasons from 1991 to 1999. Allen reunited with the network for Last Man Standing, which aired on ABC for six seasons before being canceled in 2017 and was subsequently picked up by Fox for three more seasons.

Now, Allen is reuniting with ABC for a third sitcom tentatively titled Shifting Gears. According to Deadline, the project is from Duncanville co-creators Mike Scully and Julie Thacker-Scully, and Last Man Standing executive producers Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Richard Baker, and Rick Messina. There are currently no confirmed cast members other than Allen.
