‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers suggest that all too often, when watching soaps, we forget that some of the most brilliant actors can be children.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Rachel Now Remembers Shooting EJ
Some of them break your heart, some of them make you laugh. Then, there are a few that may have some bratty tendencies and are really good at filling that role.
However, as far as child actresses go, Alice Halsey plays little Rachel Black as a truly one-of-a-kind next-generation DiMera villain like a pro, and she’s earned significant praise for her performance.
The DOOL writers have given this girl some tough material to work with, and she’s killing it. She’s definitely a mini-Kristen, and Halsey knows how to make Rachel both terrifyingly mischievous and yet also make us feel empathy for her at the same time.
Halsey’s first meaty storyline: shooting her uncle EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). Ever since that fateful night she pulled the trigger on her uncle, she’s been suffering from dissociative trauma.
According to Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), Rachel’s mind has been protecting her from the terrible truth that she almost killed EJ.
Yet, due to some of her recent actions, she’s now remembered that night clearly. Rachel is a serial child mischief maker. However, that isn’t the only time Rachel behaved dangerously.
She could have literally killed someone when she catapulted that pumpkin, aiming to hit Cat Greene (AnnaLynn McCord) on Halloween. Not to mention, the negative influence she has over Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher).
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Rachel Discovered Sarah Has a Severe Allergy to Pistachios
Then, when Rachel saw her dad, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), and Sarah Horton Kiriakis (Linsey Godfrey) sharing a warm embrace, she decided it was time to squash that relationship before it started.
Rachel conducted some online research and found out that Sarah had kidnapped her when she was a baby. Sarah couldn’t accept that Rachel was really Kristen DiMera’s (Stacey Haiduk) daughter, and she took Rachel and fled to Paris.
During her internet search, she also discovered that Sarah is deathly allergic to pistachios. That gave Rachel a lethal idea. When Rachel and Brady stopped by the Brady Pub for some ice cream, Rachel decided to order pistachio.

The little troublemaker took a spoonful of her pistachio sundae and put it in Sarah’s sundae. Then, Rachel confronted Sarah and Brady about Sarah kidnapping her years ago.
Sarah explained the heartfelt reason she did it, and suddenly Rachel grew a conscience and yelled for Sarah not to eat the ice cream, but it was too late. Sarah doubled over and started gasping for air.
Now, Sarah is in the hospital, and her fate is uncertain. What Rachel did to Sarah was calculated, devious beyond her young years, and it would make any true DiMera proud.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Rachel Would Make Stefano Proud
Stefano DiMera (Joe Mascolo) would no doubt raise a glass for the youngster as a tribute to her. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree as she’s learned from watching her mother, Kristen.
Yet, Kristen tried to do what she thought was right. As we all know, the DiMera family protects their own, and Kristen went to prison to protect Rachel from the consequences of shooting her uncle.
Kristen felt that Rachel couldn’t handle the truth about her shooting her uncle. She begged Marlena to keep it a secret. Meanwhile, Rachel has done nothing but wreak havoc since her mom went to Statesville.
Rachel is the villain viewers love to hate. She somehow simultaneously elicits deep empathy, as every time Rachel realizes she’s wrong, we see she’s just a broken little girl with serious mental health issues and needs help.
In the next minute, Rachel is an evil demon spawn and behaves in ways that are quite shocking. Alice Halsey plays the role flawlessly. It’s like watching an Olympic figure skater achieve a perfect triple axel.
We can’t wait to see how Rachel’s story plays out. We can only imagine how our little Alice Halsey will impress us next.
