With Avatar: The Way Of Water still dominating the box office, it would seem that the only way to match a James Cameron movie featuring gallons of the wet stuff might be… another James Cameron movie featuring gallons of the wet stuff. Yes, Titanic is coming back again, with another new enhanced version.
The 1997 movie (it debuted in 1998 over here), which sailed from shocker headlines about set chaos and Cameron’s sinking ambitions to one of the biggest movies of all time, sees Kate Winslet’s Rose and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jack falling in love across class boundaries against the backdrop of the maritime tragedy.
Re-released in 3D in 2012, it’ll be back next month in 3D 4K HDR and high-frame rate, which is in keeping with Cameron’s current visual obsessions for The Way Of Water.
Disney is putting the movie out internationally on 10 February, but Stateside audiences will have to wait to find out when Paramount plans to launch… or rater, re-launch, there. PS, sorry Leo but there still won’t be room on the door…
