Tom Selleck and his wife and children make a rare appearance on the red carpet, delighting fans

Tom Selleck is a family man on and off-screen. That said, sightings of the 79-year-old actor with his real-life family are few and far between. This month, however, Tom brought his wife and daughter into the spotlight while still sharing it with his beloved on-screen family.

On Thursday, October 17, Tom and the Blue Bloods cast attended PaleyFest 2024, an annual festival celebrating the greatest names and shows on television. During the event, Tom posed with Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Marisa Ramirez, Vanessa Ray, and Len Cariou—but he also made a point to bring his real-life family along for the ride. Photos from the event at The Paley Museum in New York City show Tom embracing his wife Jillie Mack and daughter Hannah Selleck on the red carpet, giving fans a rare look into his personal life.

As special as it was to see Tom out and about with his family, many were even more focused on his refreshed appearance. Now that Blue Bloods has finished filming, Tom has bid farewell to his iconic clean-cut mustache in favor of a grown-out haircut and gray beard.

Although Tom was all smiles at the event, in which attendees got to preview the final episodes of Blue Bloods and enjoy a panel with the cast, he’s far from thrilled about his role as New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan coming to an end.

“I’m kind of frustrated. During those last eight shows, I haven’t wanted to talk about an ending for Blue Bloods but about it still being wildly successful,” Tom revealed in an interview with TV Insider. “In a Top 100 Shows of 2023-2024 (in total viewers, we were number 9 out of 100), if you discount the three football shows, we’re #6! I’m not going to turn into a bitter old guy saying, ‘Get off my lawn!’ I don’t believe in holding grudges, but if you were to say to the television network, ‘Here’s a show you can program in the worst time slot you got, and it is going to guarantee you winning Friday night for the next 15 years,’ it would be almost impossible to believe. My frustration is the show was always taken for granted because it performed from the get-go. So how do I feel? It’s going to take a long time to sort all of this out.”
