Tracker cast exit announced ahead of Season 2 (who is leaving the CBS series?)
Fans of the CBS series Tracker will see a major difference when the show returns this fall. One cast member will be exiting the series, leaving questions about what will happen with the characters connected to her for Season 2.
Robin Weigert played Teddi Bruin, one of the handler duo who helped Colter (Justin Hartley) with the cases he would help on in each episode. In the show, she played the wife of Vera Bruin, portrayed by Abby McEnany, who will still be part of the series.
How will things change without Robin Weigert on Tracker for Season 2?
It’s not known yet how she will be written out or if she will just not be shown onscreen when Vera is part of the scene. There is a possibility she is still helping with the cases, but is taking a background role while Vera has a different arc when it comes to being part of the case for the week.
Either way, it will make for a different dynamic since Colter had two handlers guiding him beforehand instead of one. Even if it still appears they are both helping in different ways, we will only see Vera’s side of the investigation.
TV Insider stated that McEnany did have an idea of what would be going on with Vera thanks to the first two scripts and that she had been surprised to see what was in store.
Plus, Vera will also now be interacting with other characters such as Reenie (Fiona Rene). This means we may get to see more of her in scenes with Colter and Eric Graise’s Bobby. As for Reenie, it appears that based on something hinted about Reenie at the end of Season 1 will somehow lead to Vera taking on some sort of role in her interactions with her.
Despite the surprising cast exit, It does look like there is plenty of excitement involved for Season 2, especially with the addition of Jensen Ackles as Colter’s estranged brother, Russell.
We will find out for sure what will happen when Tracker premieres on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 8/7c. Previous episodes are available to watch on Paramount+.
