CBS’s breakout hit Tracker is setting its sights beyond the American audience, with global syndication and an international storyline teased for Season 3.
The Road to Global Fame
After becoming the most-watched scripted series of the 2024–2025 U.S. television season, Tracker is making bold moves to go international. Sources inside CBS confirmed on June 4 that the network is negotiating overseas distribution deals in the UK, Australia, and parts of Europe. The aim? To make Tracker a global franchise anchored by star Justin Hartley.
“We always knew Tracker had worldwide potential,” said CBS Studios exec Laura Franklin. “Now we’re ready to introduce Colter Shaw to a global audience.”
Season 3 May Take Colter Shaw Abroad
In a recent interview, Hartley teased that Colter Shaw’s next set of cases might take him beyond the borders of the United States.
“There are missing persons everywhere, not just in America,” Hartley said with a grin. “Season 3 could involve a tracker navigating unfamiliar terrain — new languages, new laws, but the same instincts.”
Writers are reportedly working on a multi-episode arc set in Canada or Mexico, opening the door for co-productions and fresh supporting characters.
A Streaming Deal on the Horizon?
Paramount+ is also pushing for Tracker to become its next international streaming flagship, following in the footsteps of Yellowstone and NCIS. Talks are underway to launch a “binge-drop” of Seasons 1 and 2 in global markets starting late summer 2025.
The move aligns with CBS’s strategy to elevate Tracker from a hit show into a tentpole franchise. Rumors of a Tracker spinoff — possibly focusing on another “tracker-for-hire” — have been circulating since May.
Colter Shaw’s Popularity Soars Online
Colter Shaw has also gone viral on TikTok and Instagram, with #TrackerCBS trending after the emotional Season 2 finale. Fan edits, theories, and even cosplay are giving the series a strong social media presence, making it one of CBS’s most engaged properties.
“It’s wild how many people are connecting with Colter’s journey,” said showrunner Ben Winters. “It proves that the mystery genre still has global power — especially when led by someone like Justin.”
With high ratings, international plans, and a leading man with serious star power, Tracker isn’t just staying on the map — it’s about to draw a whole new one.
