Tracker Officially Matches ABC’s Crime Sensation as 2025’s #1 Network Show

2025 was filled with quality TV, whether it’s from streaming platforms or broadcast networks. When it comes to the latter, Tracker is an undeniable hit, which is almost enjoying the No. 1. spot as the most popular show.

The action drama series has had an epic run since its 2024 premiere, with Tracker Season 3 quickly becoming the most-watched entertainment series of the new broadcast season. A new report from ratings from ABC and CBS, via Variety, cements Tracker‘s success by marking it as the most-watched entertainment series in 2025, alongside ABC’s High Potential.

Tracker and High Potential are virtually tied for the category, which doesn’t include sports and news, for the 2025 calendar year. The networks used different measures to get their ratings, but the two hit series are extremely close, averaging around 16.5 million views depending on how many episodes they’re tracking.

According to ABC and confirmed by Nielsen, High Potential‘s 12 episodes that aired during the time frame of ABC’s report across 35 days of viewing averaged 8.6 million viewers in linear, with another 7.9 million from streaming, to a total of 16.5 million viewers, putting High Potential as No. 1.

Meanwhile, Tracker came extremely close to being the most popular show in 2025 on broadcast TV. It averaged 11 million in linear and 5.4 million in streaming, adding to 16.4 million viewers total, putting it close behind High Potential.

However, the tie comes from CBS’ multiplatform 35-day report. The network’s review includes 15 episodes of Tracker, topping out at 16.5 million, edging out 13 episodes of High Potential, which added up to 16.4 million, leaving them at a tally between the two reports.

Aside from Tracker, ABC’s analysis features three other CBS shows in the Top 5, Matlock, Ghosts, and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. It didn’t include newly released shows Boston Blue and Sheriff Country, as Nielsen’s streaming data doesn’t include information from the first few episodes.

ABC also thrived beyond High Potential. Other popular shows include The Rookie, which will soon make history with its Season 8 premiere, Will Trend, Shifting Gears, and 9-1-1.

Tracker just went on hiatus after Season 3, Episode 9, “Good Trouble.” The episode ended with a major cliffhanger, and fans have to wait a long time before they find out what happens. However, when Tracker returns, it will be with some new changes.

After the shocking Season 2 cast shakeup, which saw several fan-favorite characters leave, Tracker has just cast Kathleen Robertson (Swimming with Sharks) and Mark Engelhardt (American Horror Story: Asylum) in recurring roles opposite Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw and Fiona Rene’s Reenie Greene.

Its return will include another change besides the new cast members. Tracker will debut on Mar. 1, 2026. The series airs new episodes every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET, but will switch to a new time slot after the break. Starting Mar. 1, Tracker will air from 9 p.m. ET to 10 p.m. ET.
