‘Tracker’ Recap: Colter and Camille, Played by Justin Hartley and Floriana Lima, Have a Run-In
Tracker’s second season kicked off with Justin Hartley’s Colter having a run-in with a new character played by Floriana Lima.
During the premiere, which aired on Sunday, Oct. 13, viewers learned that there was a case that’s been on Colter’s mind for the past decade. Lima is introduced as Camille, whose sister disappeared 10 years ago with the case never being solved. Every anniversary, Colter tracks down the prime suspect to try to get information out of him before visiting Camille.
“It’s been a rough few days. Every year it’s the same,” Camille told Colter before they had sex. “How about we just not talk for a while? I really want to feel something other than… you know.”
Later, the pair talked about Camille’s missing sister — and the suspect Colter visited.
“I just wanted her to know that I’m still keeping an eye on her. I went into his house and took a look. I found a sample of his handwriting. I thought maybe we could compare it to the letters you received,” he shared. “There was something else weird that I found in his house. I looked in his refrigerator and there was a bag of dirt in his freezer. He said he was testing it for toxins.”
Colter continued, “I know we’re missing something. One of these days I’m going to find something that puts him in the parking lot the night Gina disappeared. He was there — my gut tells me that.”
Prior to the Season 2 premiere, Lima was confirmed to be joining the cast as someone from Colter’s past. Camille was specifically referred to as Colter’s “sometimes lover for at least the last” 10 years. This might surprise some fans — including Us — who are hoping Colter will reunite with his ex Billie (Sofia Pernas).
The Season 2 trailer hinted at Pernas’ return. This marks the third time Hartley, 47, and Pernas, 35, have worked together. The pair originally met on the set of The Young and The Restless in 2015. They subsequently split before reconnecting years later off-screen. They tied the knot in 2021. Hartley and Pernas collaborated on Quantum Leap before she joined Tracker.
“My idea was to hint at that and intentionally name the character Billie, and then reveal that Billie is, of course, Sofia. We didn’t get to hint at that as much as I would have liked, just because we were so pressed for time. But that was the intention,” Hartley told Deadline in May. “Then when she joined, to be honest with you, I’m not sure how much of that aspect of the character that she brought was actually scripted.”
That same month, Hartley spoke about how Pernas would be returning for more episodes, adding, “You’re just looking at a talented actor. There were some things that we had the benefit of discussing privately that, normally, you don’t have time to do that. But when you live with the person, you can talk about those things at the dinner table, and say, ‘Hey, what do you think of this?’ So we really had the opportunity to have a dialogue about that.”
Hartley recently spoke to Us Weekly about the advantages that sharing the screen with his wife gave him.
“She’s wonderful. I mean, if I had the choice, I would spend every minute with her,” he told Us in July. “What’s really great is when you meet someone that means so much to you, that you’re so proud to be around and so proud of, and just being a fan, and watching her work, because she’s such a talented actress. She elevates the scenes, and that really makes my job easier, actually. But yeah, it’s wonderful to work with her.”
Tracker airs on CBS on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Paramount+.
