“Tracker” Season 2 Finale: Colter Shaw Faces His Darkest Truth Yet This Sunday

Colter Shaw is a rewardist who travels the country in his airstream, finding missing people. On Tracker, Colter uses his skills to track down lost hikers, kidnapping victims, and more. He works with a small and highly skilled team to investigate cases and collect the rewards posted by police and citizens.

Shaw and his team are steadily employed because “everyone’s looking for something.” When not on a case, Colter has been looking to uncover his family secrets and find out what really happened to his father the night he died. In the season two finale, Colter will learn another piece of the puzzle when he discovers a shocking family secret.

When Does the Tracker Season Two Finale Air?

Last week, Colter went to Seattle to help locate the missing assistant of Reenie’s new client. Things got personal when the kidnapper abducted Reenie, too. This week, Reenie is still dealing with what happened to her, and Velma is doing her best to look after the traumatized lawyer. Meanwhile, Colter heads home to Echo Ridge to investigate the disappearance of the owner of Little Fork Restaurant, but he gets more than he bargained for when he stumbles onto something very dark. The missing diner owner may have an ugly secret.

In the preview for the exciting season finale of Tracker, Colter uncovers a string of kidnappings when he finds several Polaroids of young boys hidden in the back of a drawer. Randy’s computer screens are filled with images of the missing children as he says, “This is a horror show.” Bobby, also visibly disturbed by the case, comments, “They’re from all over the country.” The Sheriff adds, “Quite the mess you’ve found, Shaw.”

While back home in Echo Ridge, Colter will also expose a family secret related to his father’s death. The teaser shows Colter, emotional and teary-eyed, as he holds a gun to someone demanding answers. Up until recently, Colter had believed his older brother, Russell, played by Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles, was the one who killed Ashton Shaw that dark and rainy night in the woods. After reconnecting with Russell, Colter learned that there was someone else there that night. Russell couldn’t see who it was, but he saw someone in the woods when he found their father at the bottom of a cliff.

In last week’s Tracker, Colter’s little sister Dory, played by Manifest’s Melissa Roxburgh, gave Colter a box of their father’s research papers and journal. In it, Colter discovered a hidden piece of paper, folded up and stashed in the binding of a journal. The small slip of paper had a phone number that had since gone out of service written on it. Who the phone number belonged to and what Ashton was hiding may come out in the shocking season two finale this Sunday.

Wendy Crewson Returns as Colter’s Mother, Mary Dove Shaw

Mary Shaw was last seen at the beginning of season one when she appeared in the first two episodes of the series. Mary is estranged from her other two children, Dory and Russell. She insisted that Russell had killed their father and told Colter to block his number when he began calling Colter. When Colter goes to Wyoming and stops by to see his sister, Dory tells him that she’s moved on from their parents’ secrets and paranoia and that their mother was “just as crazy” as their father. Colter and Mary seemed to have a good relationship since he was the only one who stayed with her after their father’s death.

In the second episode, Mary wakes up to find a small wooden statue of an owl in her cabin with a sticky note attached that reads, “I’m watching you.” Recognizing the owl from Ashton’s detached office, she runs outside and finds the door ajar with papers scattered all over the floor. Mary calls Colter to come down, but when he arrives, she downplays the incident. Colter goes to check out the office, and it’s been tidied, but not everything has been put back in the correct spot. Colter spots the owl out of place and puts it back before knowingly turning to his mother. She continues to hide whatever really happened, and Colter leaves. It looks like Colter will find another wooden statue placed in Mary’s cabin this Sunday, so the mysterious sticky note author may have something to do with the epic conclusion to season two.

The Tracker Season 2 finale airs Sunday, May 11, at 8 p.m. on CBS and will be streamed on Paramount+ the next day.
