Tracker Season 2 Premiere: Colter Shaw’s Dangerous Mission, Reenie’s New Independence, and Potential Romance

Tracker season 2 is back with a bang, following Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley), a missing persons specialist. This season, he’s on a mission in the Arkansas woods to find the missing family of a man named Craig King (Erik Gow).

Although Colter appears to be working alone, he actually has a team behind him. This becomes clear in the first episode of season 2. Colter gets a lot of help from Reenie (Fiona Rene), a legal expert, Velma (Abby McEnany), his handler, and Bobby (Eric Graise), a hacker pal.

The season 2 premiere sees Reenie decorating her new office. A talented lawyer, she decided to open her own law firm after leaving her old job at the end of season 1. Fiona Rene, who plays Reenie, shared with Screen Rant how this decision will affect her character’s journey in season 2.

In the interview, Rene revealed that her character is looking for independence. She said:

“I think from the beginning, it was clear that she wanted to define herself from Colter and from her old job, where I felt, in my mind, there were a lot of men directing her. She said, ‘I’ve had enough. I’m going to open my own firm and make my own decisions as a woman.’”

Rene explained that Reenie is trying to distance herself from Colter and her old job, wanting to make her own decisions without being influenced by others, especially men.

Despite her struggles to become independent, Reenie still wants to support Colter. Their friendship continues to grow. In season 2, viewers will see more of Reenie in the office and in the field.

Now that Reenie is running her own business, she has more time to work with Velma, who has become Colter’s sole dispatcher after Teddi Bruin (Robin Weigert) left the team. With Teddi gone, Reenie and Velma’s partnership has become closer, a change that is evident in the first episode of the new season.

A New Romance?
Tracker season 1 didn’t focus much on romantic relationships, with the exception of Teddi and Velma. However, season 2 does introduce a potential love interest for Colter. Viewers have noticed a connection between Reenie and Colter, and Rene has mentioned the possibility of them becoming a couple.

She said, “I love him, but do you expect me to live in a trailer? [Laughs] You know what I mean? I think there’s a lot of love between them, but I also think she would never live on the road. They’re both very strong-willed, so I can’t imagine how that would work out, but who knows?”

Season 2 promises to bring more surprises and new developments in the relationships between the characters, especially the development of Colter and Reenie.
