‘Tracker’ Season 3: Who’s In, Who’s Out, and Who’s Still on the Fence?

Justin Hartley as Colter – Returning!

Justin Hartley will obviously back to star in season three of Tracker!

About the show’s upcoming third season, Justin teased to Variety, “We have a lot to unpack going into Season 3, but I love how we ended Season 2 because I think it closes up some loops that we’ve left open for a while and for good reason.”

About the show’s massive success, he added, “We have a studio and a network that really believed in us. They gave us all the tools, and they gave us all the opportunity with the advertising and post-Super Bowl [premiere slot]. After that, you just have to prove yourself, because obviously you’re going to have a big audience after the Super Bowl, but then you have to have a really good show. Otherwise, people are not going to return over and over and over again. People are busy! We try to come up with really compelling stories that people haven’t seen before, and we try to put this guy in believable situations that are quite harrowing at the same time.”

Chris Lee as Randy – Returning!

Elwood Reid, the show’s executive, told TV Line that Randy (Chris Lee) will be returning.

When asked if both Randy and Bobby would return, Elwood remarked, “I don’t know the complete plan, but the answer is that Chris will be back. I think he brings a lot to the show. He’s a friend of mine, so I’m predisposed to love him, right? And I know how to write for him. I know what his voice is. So I think part of that goes towards building out what Reenie’s world is going to look like. But again, it’s a weird show, because there are episodes, if you think back, where you don’t see any of the team.”

Eric Graise as Bobby Exley – No Definitive Answer

Eric Graise eventually returned as Bobby Exley in season two after an extended absence.

Fans hope he’ll be back for season three.

Elwood did mention Bobby in that same interview, sharing, “I think the challenge is going to be shaking the show up so it doesn’t feel the same every week. We did an episode where Colter gets a phone call and meets Randy in Reno, and they were together, which is something fun that you never get to see. I think it’s [about] constantly challenging the format of the show — and to do that, I have to use all my players: Bobby and Randy, and Reenie and Velma.”

Fiona Rene as Reenie Greene – Returning!

Fiona Rene returned as Reenie Greene in season two, and we don’t see a reason why she won’t be featured in season three.

Elwood Reid, the show’s executive, told TV Line she’ll be back, confirming, “I think Reenie is a really interesting character. She’s tough, but we got to see her shaken to her core a couple times this year, and Fiona is really game to grow her character. I think where we find her in the beginning of the season is questioning what she does and maybe try to build some safety nets around her. We’re going to build up that world significantly, I think, in Season 3, so there’s going to be some fun stuff coming with her.”

Abby McEnany as Velma Bruin – Unclear!

Abby McEnany was back as Velma Bruin for season 2, however, her character was absent throughout some of the show’s second season.

There has been no official work if she’ll be back at this time. Fans are worried that her absences throughout the season might point to an exit, but some argue that her presence in Colter’s life is necessary.

Wendy Crewson as Mary Shaw – Returning!

Elwood Reid, the show’s executive, told TV Line she’ll be back, saying, “Yes, I think she’ll have some presence. The question is, why did she lie to Colter? And what are the implications of that? And you can see, if you’ve watched the finale — and that final scene — that all of that emotion is there. In that moment, Colter is realizing that his mother has possibly lied about his entire childhood. Not only that, but here’s a guy that had something to do with his father’s death [that is] directly related to his mother.”

Jensen Ackles as Russell – “In Talks”

Jensen Ackles returned in season 2, episode 2 as Colter’s older brother Russell. He just gave an update on his season three plans!

In a new interview, he revealed that conversations have begun for him to reprise his role.

“We are discussing that as we speak,” he confirmed to Collider.

He continued, “That is being talked about, so yeah, I would hope so. Justin [Hartley] is a dear friend of mine and getting to play with him is always a fun thing. So, yeah, there are talks of bringing me back. To what capacity, I’m not sure yet.”

Russell Shaw is Colter’s older brother, a sharp, resourceful man with a mysterious past. Once suspected of killing their father, he now works in private security. Though distant and secretive, Russell occasionally helps Colter, revealing deep loyalty beneath their strained relationship and adding tension and intrigue to the family’s story.

Alex Fernandez as Otto – Possibly Returning

Executive producer Elwood Reid told TV Insider that the opening of season three might explain Colter‘s mom’s relationship with Otto, leading us to believe he could be back.

Elwood said, “There is some history there, which I think we’re going to unravel in the opening of Season 3 about maybe perhaps a personal relationship with her and this man. But also one way to weirdly look at it is Colter grew up to be a guy who comes and helps people. I think back in the day, Otto may have been that guy for his mother, but why is going to be a bigger question that we’ll explore in Season 3. ”

Robin Weigert as Teddi Bruin – Not Returning

Robin Weigert exited the series after portraying the role of Teddi Bruin in season one. You can find out how she exited the series here.

Fans are presuming she’ll remain out of the show for season three and beyond after exiting ahead of the show’s second season.

Floriana Lima as Camille Picket – Joined in Season 2

Floriana Lima joined the cast in a recurring capacity for season two in the role of Camille Picket. Her season three status is not clear.

Camille Picket is the sister of Gina Picket, whose disappearance deeply affected her and Colter Shaw. She shares a complicated romantic history with Colter, rooted in their shared grief. Eventually, Camille decides to move on from both the case and Colter, choosing closure over continuing emotional uncertainty.

Melissa Roxburgh as Dory – Appeared in Season 2

Melissa Roxburgh was back as Colter’s younger sister Dory during a season 2 guest appearance. It’s unclear if she’ll be back for season three at this time.

Dory Shaw is Colter Shaw’s younger sister and a physics professor. She’s tried to move past their family’s troubled history but remains tied to Colter through shared trauma. Though distant at times, she offers help when needed, showing intelligence, strength, and emotional complexity as their bond slowly rebuilds.

Sofia Pernas as Billie – Appeared in Season 2

Sofia Pernas returned as Billie Matalon for the third episode of the second season.

Billie Matalon is a sharp, independent reward seeker and former flame of Colter Shaw. Their shared history is marked by trust issues and betrayal. Billie’s return complicates Colter’s work, but her skills prove valuable. She brings tension, chemistry, and emotional depth to the story as their paths continue to cross.

Fun fact: Sofia and the show’s star, Justin Hartley, are married!
