Tracker’s New Episode Teases a Dark Twist in Reenie’s Journey

From the moment Reenie (Fiona Rene) first mentioned the mysterious client she’d taken on earlier this season, there were plenty of questions surrounding him. We finally meet that client in Episode 14, when Tracker introduces Leo Sharf (Pej Vahdat), a charming, persuasive businessman very interested in Reenie’s talents. However, there was an immediate darkness to Leo, especially once it became clear he wanted to take down his business partner, Sheldon Grimes. Grimes is a man Leo once made millions with whom he now wants to cut out entirely, and he wants Reenie to help him do it.

In that episode, Leo gave Reenie a burner phone, signaling just how clandestine this relationship would be. While Reenie pushed back on the idea of becoming anyone’s full-time fixer, Leo doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who takes no for an answer. In this week’s episode, “The Mercy Seat,” Reenie dives even deeper into Leo’s murky world and finds new information that could put her in real danger. What she doesn’t yet know is that Leo’s operation is far more entangled in her personal life than she realizes. The warning signs are there, and Tracker is clearly setting the stage for a major turning point in Reenie’s arc.

In Season 2, Episode 16 of ‘Tracker,’ We Learn How Reenie Got the Job with Leo Sharf

From the moment we see Reenie in Episode 16, she’s all in, digging for leverage on Sheldon Grimes and even authorizing an extra fee to have someone go through his trash. When she finally receives the paperwork she’s been waiting for, her reaction says it all. We don’t know what’s on the page, but her face is a mix of disgust and anger. Whatever she’s found is serious, and she keeps Velma (Abby McEnany) in the dark about the details, saying it’s better she doesn’t know. That choice is telling because it means Reenie is going deeper into this mess than she probably should, and she’s doing it alone

She calls Leo to let him know she may have found what he’s looking for, and he immediately insists on meeting in person. They arrange a dinner, where Leo says they have “a lot to discuss.” That’s when we meet Francie (Kaylah Zander), Leo’s associate, and, more importantly, a friend of Elliott’s (Michael Rady), the man Reenie’s been dating since she left her old law firm. It’s revealed that Elliott is the one who referred Reenie to Leo. Francie cryptically asks, “Does she know?” to which Leo replies, “Not yet. But she will.” Is she asking specifically about Elliott’s recommendation or is there something else going on that we’re not aware of?

Elliott has always come off as a little too perfect — sweet, supportive, conveniently removed from the action. And this isn’t the first time his past has raised questions. Back in Episode 11, “Shades of Gray,” Colter (Justin Hartley) helped one of Elliott’s clients who turned out to have mob ties. Elliott claimed he had no idea and was quick to apologize after Colter was nearly killed. At the time, Reenie gave him the benefit of the doubt, but now, with the revelation that he’s been keeping at least one secret from her, it raises a bigger question: What else isn’t he telling her? Whatever it is, Tracker is clearly setting up for a deeper reveal.

Reenie’s Dinner With Sharf in ‘Tracker’ Episode 16 Proves She Might Be in Too Deep

Pej Vahdat as Leo Sharf in Tracker Season 2.

When Leo arrives in Denver for dinner with Reenie, he skips the upscale restaurant vibe you’d expect and opts for street tacos in her office. It’s a disarming move, keeping things casual, unpretentious, and clearly designed to put her at ease. Reenie questions his motives for wanting to oust Grimes from their company, and while his answers remain vague, one line from Reenie stands out. She references “what Grimes did to those women,” suggesting there were serious accusations or complaints that may have been buried, potentially about his abuse towards women. Whatever the details, it’s enough to convince her that Grimes deserves to be taken down.

Reenie seems fully committed to the mission now, so much so that she insists on being present when Grimes finds out what she’s uncovered, which Sharf laughs off. She brings up Luterna Corp, a company Leo hasn’t disclosed, but one Grimes is involved in. Reenie warns that if this connection comes to light, it could implicate Leo and everything he’s built. Leo, in turn, is counting on Reenie to quietly manage the fallout. Fiona Rene is excellent in this scene, skillfully conveying Reenie’s simmering frustration while maintaining a professional front. She doesn’t want Leo to sense that she’s too emotionally invested, especially when he’s clearly angling to pull her in deeper. Pej Vahdat’s performance also shines here, maintaining Leo’s slick charm while picking up on Reenie’s thirst for justice and subtly playing into her ego. With a major company launch on the horizon and Grimes becoming a liability, Leo sees Reenie as the perfect person to help him get what he wants.

Later, when Reenie gets a call from Randy (Chris Lee) that Colter is in serious trouble, she doesn’t hesitate to ask Sharf for his help – and his helicopter. It’s a significant moment, signaling the growing trust between them. Sharf also doesn’t hesitate, telling Reenie she can have whatever she needs. The gesture isn’t just generous, though – it’s strategic. It shows off Leo’s power and reach, and it earns him goodwill not just with Reenie, but potentially with Colter, too. Leo is playing the long game, and right now, it seems to be working.

With only four episodes left in Season 2 of Tracker, the show is clearly steering Reenie toward a dangerous crossroads. The deeper she gets involved in Leo Sharf’s world, the more she risks becoming complicit in whatever he’s trying to keep buried. And with Elliott’s true connections still murky, the situation grows even more precarious. Reenie may be a brilliant lawyer, but the closer she gets to Leo, the more danger she invites, not just for herself, but for the people she cares about. Tracker is laying the groundwork for a major turning point in her arc, and she’ll be forced to figure out who she can really trust – hopefully before it’s too late.
