A day after news broke that Tru Valentino will not be returning to The Rookie as a series regular for the popular ABC drama’s upcoming seventh season, the actor took to his IG story to comment to his departure.
Not elaborating over the circumstances surrounding his exit, he looked back at his time on the show.
“It was such an amazing opportunity, and I feel so lucky to have had the last three seasons,” he wrote. After thinking “the best fans in the world,” he hinted that we may have not seen the last of his character, Aaron Thorsen.
“You never know who may pop back up in the Mid-Wilshire precinct,” he said. “Until then, 7 Adam 19, this is Officer Thorsen, over and out!”
Aaron was introduced as a recurring character in Season 4. Valentino was promoted to a series regular at the start of Season 5.
