True Crime Spotlight Turns to Celina’s Past in Latest ‘The Rookie’ Clip

Nathan Fillion’s beloved police procedural just got a thrilling new look ahead of a new episode’s debut tomorrow. The Rookie Season 7, Episode 14, “Mad About Murder,” will premiere tomorrow, and it will follow Tim (Eric Winter) as he receives a strange message that launches a deep investigation into the dark web while Celina (Lissbeth Chavez) works to take down a podcast. People Magazine has debuted an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming episode, which will air tomorrow at 9 p.m. EST on ABC and stream the following day on Hulu. The sneak peek shows Celina grappling with Heather, who tries to turn her sister’s tragic murder into a murder mystery podcast, the same one that she will work to take down in the episode.

The clip also shows Celina barging into Heather’s production studio and demanding they tell them why they’re using her sister’s murder for personal gain. They try to calm her down by telling her, “We totally support your anger” and “I just want you to lose control,” but Celina makes sure they know she’s perfectly in control. Celina then proceeds to flash her badge and look around the studio for signs of anything suspicious, and at the same time that Heather’s production assistant reminds her that they’re in the middle of filming, she hears her mother’s voice. Celina then helps her mother collect her belongings as the two leave the interview, and Heather tries to stop her on her way out the door to tell her she’d love to interview her too about her “fascinating story.” However, to Celina, it’s not a story; it’s a hard chapter in her life to relive this way.
