The Conners aka Roseanne minus Roseanne debuted on ABC Tuesday night, and as expected, it came in below the former series.
The Conners Season 1 Episode 1 secured a 2.3 rating (10.5 million viewers). That’s down from Roseanne Season 10’s average (13.5 million/3.5 rating) and the season finale (10.6 million/2.5 rating).
After that, The Kids Are Alright launched with a 1.4 rating (6.6 million), losing a lot of The Conners’ demo.
Blackish returned with a 1.1 rating (4.5 million viewers), while Splitting Up Together had a 1.0 rating (3.7 million viewers).
The Rookie closed out ABC’s night with a mere 1.0 rating (5.3 million). It’s not a great start, but also not as bad as it could have been. It did build significantly from For The People’s spring average.
The CW: The Flash (1.6 million/0.6 rating) and Black Lightning (1 million/0.3 rating) each slipped around 25 percent week-to-week.
NBC: The Voice (8.8 million/1.7 rating) and This Is Us (8.9 million/2.2 rating) each dropped a tenth, while New Amsterdam (6.4 million/1.2 rating) dived another two-tenths.
Fox: The Gifted (2 million/0.6 rating) dipped a tenth while Lethal Weapon (2.9 million/0.7 rating) was steady.
CBS: NCIS (11.7 million/1.2 rating) and NCIS: New Orleans (7.4 million/0.8 rating) dropped, but FBI (9.4 million/1.0 rating) was right on par with one week earlier.
