Two Fan Favorites Exit as Fire Country Season 4 Trailer Drops Major Bombshells md12

The trailer for Fire Country season 4 confirms a major character death. Fire Country season 3 ended with two separate shocks, underlined by the unexpected announcement that two fan-favorite cast members would be leaving the popular CBS drama.

Billy Burke, who plays the father of Bode (Max Thieriot), is one of the major cast exits. His character, Vince, sees his fate hanging in the balance when his job takes a dangerous turn. Stephanie Arcila, who plays Gabriela, is also leaving as a series regular. However, Gabriela will still be there for one of Bode’s darkest moments.

The premiere of Fire Country season 4 is just weeks away, returning to CBS on Friday, October 17 at 8 p.m. EST, with the trailer confirming that Vince has died. In the minute-long preview, Bode and Vince’s wife, Sharon (Diane Farr), are both unraveling and struggling to face their new reality, including suspension of the work of the former’s station. Check out the trailer below:

What The Fire Country Trailer Means For Season 4

Max Thieriot as Bode Leone in Fire Country.

The massive change in the Fire Country cast is evident just in the quick preview. Bode looks about ready to come to blows with Jake (Jordan Calloway), an anger that has more to do with the loss he just experienced. The loss is made worse because, as we see in the trailer, Bode still bears a significant amount of blame for what happened and has to face uncertainty about the status of Station 42.

Sharon isn’t faring much better. In the trailer, she wishes that she were the one who was taken. Although it’s hard to know how much she really means that without seeing the full episode, it’s clear that Vince’s absence is something that will linger on the firefighting drama for a good while.

It’s an interesting setup for Fire Country season 4, which will also be devoted to setting up the Sheriff Country spinoff. Timed with the departure of Gabriela, who still looks to be positioned as Bode’s endgame romance, there is no denying that the CBS series will look fundamentally different when it comes back in October.

Our Take On Fire Country’s Exits

It can be tough to deal with one major character departure, let alone two at the same time. But it speaks to the confidence that the creative team has in the actors that remain and the fact that there will be more stories to tell, even with Vince gone and Gabriela no longer a regular presence. The question becomes whether or not Fire Country’s fans will be accepting of the change.
