Including a preview for the next new episode of Chicago Fire
CHICAGO Fire fans have been disappointed again this week as they suffered through more re-runs.
Season 12 of Chicago Fire hasn’t seen new content since April 3 when the episode Something About Her aired.
For the second Wednesday in a row, fans of the Chicago franchise have tuned into NBC only to be greeted with a rerun.
To add insult to injury, viewers will be left high and dry next week too.
Chicago Fire has gotten the same treatment as its counterparts Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. which has been on the same three-week hiatus.
On Reddit, superfans of Chicago Fire have expressed their frustration with the large gap in the season saying, “Wednesday nights just aren’t the same without #OneChicago.”
Many blame the WGA and SAG strikes that happened last year and hope that the next season will return to normal.
One said, “The gaps are because of the writer’s strike – the show had a pre-determined end time for a season finale and had to work towards that while also filming several episodes.”
Another said shows always have breaks, they’re just less noticeable in longer seasons.
They said, “They always have breaks, we just don’t notice it because we usually have 22ish episodes to look forward to from Sept-May vs. the irregular Jan-May span of 13 episodes.”A third fan joined in on the hate for the hiatus, “I’m with you on this. I’m in the UK and there are never gaps like this throughout a season.
“At most we might miss a week if there’s a special occasion or football or something that takes priority on the channel.”
“Half the time I forget what happened last time on Chicago Fire as there’s so many breaks between episodes,” they concluded.
The next new episode of the show will air next month on May 1.
It will be the tenth episode of the season, and it’s called The Wrong Guy.
It will feature the character Severide, played by Taylor Kinney, 42, as he joins Station 51 as a ranking officer.
Plus, Stella Kidd will be focusing on her Girls on Fire program, and Joe Cruz has to deal with a threat against his family.
Fans on another Reddit thread talked about the next new episode and speculated about what was to come.
One fan cried, “I swear if they have Javi taken away from Cruz and Chloe I am doneeee,” Javi being Cruz’s adopted son.
“Oh no, not a relative of Javi’s coming back to ruin things!” added another.
A third viewer said, “Everyone fixing on the Javi stuff and rehashing trauma adoption but we are also rehashing Kidd losing Girls on Fire despite her having been so successful that she set up dozens of new ones while panicking about the captaincy but not logical for there to be a threat to it. “It’s most likely going to be our villainess going after it but the mental hurdles they will need to jump to justify it is crazy.”
The entire Chicago One franchise will be back with new episodes on Wednesday nights airing on NBC, and they’ll be available on Peacock.
