Virgin River fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the beloved Netflix drama for its sixth season, following the two-part Christmas special that aired last November.
Eight months on, we bring you all the latest updates on what to expect from Virgin River’s comeback.
Filming for the sixth season of Virgin River kicked off in Vancouver in February 2024, after initial delays due to actors and writers strikes, as well as weather-related issues.
The production team has confirmed that filming concluded as planned at the end of May, meaning the show is now in the post-production phase.
While there’s no official release date yet, Deadline reports that the series is set to hit Netflix sometime in 2025, reports.
Martin Henderson is set to make his directorial debut during season 6 of the show, directing episode 608.
Henderson is not the only cast member who directs in the series. Tim Matheson directed four episodes in the previous seasons (S01E09, S01E10, S02E07, S02E08).
Episode count reduced for season 6
During our interview with Ildiko Susany, it was confirmed that Season 6 will consist of 10 episodes.
The order has been reduced from the previous 12 of both Season 4 and 5.
Is Virgin River renewed for season 7?
Officially, Netflix has not publicly announced a renewal for season 7 yet.
However, in the past few weeks, several crew members directly involved in the series, as well as some individuals not affiliated with the production but employed by certain cast members while working in Vancouver, have posted on social media that they will be returning for season 7.
