Virgin River star Martin Henderson, known for his role as Jack Sheridan, recently set hearts aflutter on Instagram by hinting that the much-anticipated sixth season of the show is drawing near.
On his social media page, the actor shared an intriguing snap from behind-the-scenes, with a caption that read: “Back in the booth getting post production just right for season 6 of #Virginriver.”
The selfie featured Martin at work, and in a glimpse of the projector screen it appears he was accompanied by the image of Alexandra Breckenridge’s character Mel Monroe mid-scene.
Speculation is rife that he’s currently involved in ADR (automated dialogue replacement), which involves the meticulous process of re-recording audio to achieve perfect sound quality.
The Instagram update didn’t take long to send waves of excitement through Henderson’s fanbase.
In the comments section, one excited supporter wrote: “So exciting!!! Can’t wait for season 6!! Thank you for all you do to make this show perfect for us fans!!!”, reports the Mirror.
Another fan quipped about the wait, humorously asking: “Do you think you could work a bit faster please we miss you all.”
While yet another clamoured for a release date: “And I can hardly wait. When?? Jan 2025? Hopeful!!”
Other comments included enthusiastic viewers saying, “Watching the old episodes again and anxious to see your new ones”, “That is so exciting!! I am excited for the new season!!” and “I can’t wait to see you back in action!”, clearly indicating the high level of anticipation for the new season.
These revelations came hot on the heels of Virgin River showrunner Patrick Sean Smith’s disclosure to Deadline.
He teased eager audiences that not only will the new batch of 10 episodes feature a “time jump from the holidays”, but they’ll also offer a deep dive into the backstory of Mel Monroe’s biological father Everett Reid, portrayed by John Allen Nelson.
