Virgin River fans have been waiting for any news and updates about the upcoming new season of their favorite show, and series leading star Alexandra Breckenridge will always offer any details she can. However, this time, she can’t share the full update she’s keeping secret: the Virgin River season 6 release date.
In a recent Instagram story update, Breckenridge interacted with curious Virgin River fans angling for some details on the upcoming release of season 6. While the actress couldn’t spill the beans on the official release date just yet, she did confirm recent reports from Netflix that the new season would be released in 2024 rather than the projected 2025 release.
Breckenridge addressed the Virgin River superfans who seem to track down top secret details about the show (including the episode titles, but we’ll get to those!) and invited them to guess which month the season would drop, but she gave no hints. Instead, the Mel star simply shared the tease that she knows the official release date and fans will have to keep waiting:
Sure, she might not have pointed us in the right direction as to when Virgin River season 6 will be released on Netflix (November? December? Tell us, Alex!), but now we have heard from the star herself that we can expect the season to arrive before next year. That’s worth celebrating!
Virgin River season 6 episode titles tease a wedding
Additionally, the episode titles for all 10 season 6 episodes hit the internet, and they tell quite the story about what fans should anticipate in the upcoming season. There are a lot of titles that hint toward romance, which obviously makes sense considering this is Virgin River. “Love Story” and “Prelude to a Kiss” sound like build up to “The Big Day,” and that particular title seems to further suggest Mel and Jack’s wedding day will be happening in season 6.
Keep in mind, the episode titles as shared below aren’t confirmed to be in order. We likely won’t know the official order of the episodes until the season releases, but it’s still a fun treat for fans to piece together what’s to come in season 6 based on these titles. Virgin River’s often playful but literal with its episode titles as they relate to a theme or even featured in the episode.
It’s no secret that “The Big Day” will now be the most eagerly awaited episode of season 6, but as Breckenridge promised, it’s going to be another great season that all of us fans will love. There’s going to be romance care of Mel and Jack and tons of intrigue and drama in store, especially with Preacher’s secret slowly starting to come to light. Perhaps that’s what “Ghosts” and “The Jury’s Out” will be about.
Ahead of season 6’s production, which officially wrapped in June 2024, the showrunner offered some spoilers for fans to look forward to for characters such as Mel and Jack, Doc and Hope, and Brie and her ongoing love triangle between Brady and Mike. Hopefully, there’s not much longer to wait in 2024 until we can dive into the next chapter of this lovable small-town drama.
