Virgin River’s Martin Henderson got pulses racing on Instagram just a few days ago by teasing that the sixth season isn’t too far away.
Posting a behind-the-scenes selfie while busy at work, the Jack Sheridan performer captioned it: “Back in the booth getting post production just right for season 6 of #Virginriver.” On a projector in the background, his and Alexandra Breckenridge’s characters are in the middle of something.
Our guess is that he’s in ADR (automated dialogue replacement) right now, which is the necessary process of re-recording audio in a more controlled environment.
As you’d expect, the actor’s followers were energised by this update in the comment column, with one user replying: “So exciting!!! Can’t wait for season 6!! Thank you for all you do to make this show perfect for us fans!!!”
“Do you think you could work a bit faster please we miss you all,” joked another, while someone else desperately asked: “And I can hardly wait. When?? Jan 2025? Hopeful!!”
“Watching the old episodes again and anxious to see your new ones”, “That is so exciting!! I am excited for the new season!!” and “I can’t wait to see you back in action!” read some more of the furore.
This comes after Virgin River boss Patrick Sean Smith revealed to Deadline that the upcoming 10 episodes will not only “time jump from the holidays” but also dig deeper into Mel Monroe’s biological father Everett Reid (played by John Allen Nelson).
“What we’re exploring more in season 6 is who Everett Reid is, what his backstory is, what his connection to Virgin River was when he met her mom and then also what it is today,” said Smith.
